This entire exercise has been done to make the recruitment process of Station Master easier and faster.
Let’s know about old and new pattern of Indian Railway Station Master Recruitment Process. Now let’s know how final merit will be prepared for station master recruitment.
What was the old exam pattern of Railway Station Master Recruitment?
Till now RRB NTPC filled the post of Station Master through Graduate Level Recruitment. In this regard, the examination pattern of Station Master was similar to NTPC Graduate level recruitment, under which candidates had to appear in a written examination in two stages. In the first phase, the first computer based test (CBT-1) was conducted. In which CBT-2 was organized for the successful candidates. Psycho i.e. Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) was conducted for candidates who succeeded in CBT-2.
Now there will be CBT, then CBAT
Now under the new system, Indian Railways will issue separate notification from NTPC Graduate level recruitment to fill the post of RRB Station Master. Along with this, the examination pattern for the recruitment of Station Master has also been changed. The new exam pattern will be applicable from 2026 onwards. Under this change, only one online written test will be conducted for the recruitment of Station Master. 8 times more candidates than the number of posts will be called for Computer Based Aptitude Test (Psycho Test).
Merit will be made with 70-30 percent weightage
In the new system, the numbers have been fixed for the psycho test for the recruitment of Station Master. For example, psycho test marks will also get weightage in final merit. 70 percent weightage will be given to the marks of written test and 30 percent weightage to the marks of psycho test for making the file merit. After this, candidates will be called for document verification and medical examination in the ratio of 1:1.
