There is a recruitment opportunity for the youth who are preparing for government jobs in Punjab. Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board (PSSSB) has invited applications for the posts of Clerk, Driver, Field Artist and Translator in various Government Departments. Total 70 posts will be filled. Out of which 28 posts are reserved for women candidates. Application process has started. Eligible candidates can visit the official website of the board sssb.punjab.gov.in and apply till 19 October 2026.
Under PSSSB recruitment, 3 posts of Driver, 11 Clerk (Legal), 34 Clerk (Accounts), 12 Clerk (IT), 6 Translator and 1 Field Artist will be appointed.
Qualification as per post
For driver post candidate should be 10th pass. Also he/she should have valid LMV/HMV driving license and regular driving experience. Relevant degrees like IT/CS/BCA for Clerk (IT), Law for Clerk (Legal) and B.Com for Clerk (Accounts) are sought. For the post of translator, should be graduation with Punjabi, English or Hindi related language as main subject. A degree or diploma in fine art, commercial art or graphic design is required for field artists.
Age and selection process
Minimum age for all posts is 18 years. The maximum age limit for general category candidates is fixed at 37 years. The reserved category candidates of Punjab will get the benefit of age relaxation as per rules. Candidates will be selected on the basis of objective type written test i.e. MCQ test. Typing speed test of 30 words per minute in Punjabi and English is also required for clerk posts.
How much is the application fee?
The application fee for general category candidates is Rs 1,000. SC/BC/EWS candidates from Punjab Rs. 250, ex-servicemen Rs. 200 and disabled candidates Rs. 500 has to be paid.
