Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Chairman Dr. Ajay Kumar has made important comments regarding the Civil Services Exam (CSE) exam. UPSC Chairman Dr. Ajay Kumar said that the interview board should test the public service mindset of the CSE candidates. He said the commission advises the interview board to check the candidates’ dedication to serve the country and people along with other criteria. He further added that this has been the consistently adopted approach of the Commission. In this, the interview board is particularly advised to check the intention of the candidates to enter the public service.

Let’s know the whole matter in detail. Let’s know what else the UPSC chairman said in this matter. Will know why he said so.

UPSC is trusted only because of confidentiality and transparency.

UPSC Chairman Dr. Ajay Kumar spoke in detail on privacy and transparency including technology. Speaking to government channel DD News, he said that transparency is one of the main objectives of UPSC. In this regard, the Commission has started releasing the Provisional Answer Key immediately after the examination, which is a step towards transparency in the Commission’s digital process.

He said that it is also necessary to keep the information confidential. UPSC has maintained confidentiality, due to which people today have faith in UPSC. No outsider can influence UPSC. Dr. Ajay Kumar said that to maintain this there should be transparency where it is needed so that public trust is maintained and where secrecy is needed there should be secrecy.

Answering a question related to technology, he said that technology is affecting everyone in the present era. Even UPSC is not immune to this. He said the commission uses technology in many ways to improve its systems, reduce time taken in various processes and enhance security.

People coming into public service have to be selected

UPSC Chairman Dr. Ajay Kumar said that the commission’s experts are doing this very well, but it needs constant attention. He emphasized that not every able-bodied person wants to do public service. It is possible that some people don’t want to do that. In such a situation, the Commission has to select those candidates who are ready to enter public service and dedicate their whole life to it.
