In the report, an analysis of all subject-wise questions asked in JEE Advanced 2026 has been released, under which question number 2 of the Physics paper has been recorded as the toughest in JEE Advanced 2026. Similarly, more than 60 percent of candidates appearing in JEE Advanced 2026 have skipped 4 questions of Chemistry. For example, these 5 questions were the most difficult in JEE Advanced 2026. According to the report, maths questions were easier compared to other subjects. JEE Advanced 2026 was held on 17 May.
Let’s know in detail about IIT Roorkee Joint Implementation Committee Report 2026. Let’s find out what information is provided in the report in terms of analysis of topic wise questions.
jee advance exam pattern
First let’s understand the exam pattern of JEE Advanced. Actually, JEE Advanced consists of Paper 1 and Paper 2. Each paper i.e. in both papers questions are asked from Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Paper 1 asks 16 questions each from Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics. While Paper 2 has 18 questions each from Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics.
71.49% left, 13.88% answered question number 2 of Physics Paper 1 wrongly.
According to the Joint Implementation Committee Report 2026 released by IIT Roorkee, among all the questions asked in JEE Advanced 2026, question number 2 of Physics Paper 1 has been recorded as the toughest. For example, out of 1.79 lakh candidates who appeared in the examination, 1.28 lakh candidates did not answer this question, recording a total percentage of 71.89 per cent. Out of the candidates who answered this question, 24933 candidates gave the wrong answer, the percentage of which was recorded as 13.88 percent. It means that 85 percent candidates did not get marks in this question.
More than 60% candidates skipped 4 questions of Chemistry
According to the Joint Implementation Committee Report 2026 released by IIT Roorkee, 4 Chemistry questions in JEE Advanced 2026 were also challenging for the candidates, with more than 60 percent candidates not answering these questions.
According to the 2026 report of the Joint Implementation Committee, question number 1 of Chemistry Paper 1 was not solved by 66.59 per cent candidates. While 19 percent people gave the wrong answer. It means that 85 percent candidates did not get marks for this question. Similarly, question number 4 of Chemistry Paper 1 was not solved by 62.27 per cent candidates, while 27 per cent gave the wrong answer. Thus, 90 percent of the candidates got no marks for this question.
While question number 1 of Chemistry Paper 2 was not solved by 67.42 percent candidates. 20 percent gave the wrong answer. Due to which 87 percent candidates did not get marks. Similarly, question number 3 of Chemistry Paper 2 was not solved by 62.45 percent of the candidates. 27 percent gave the wrong answer. Thus, 89 percent of the candidates got no marks for this question.
