Ahead of the festive season, JSW MG Motor has teased a new limited edition Indulge of its popular electric car Windsor EV. Windsor EV is about to complete two years of its arrival in the Indian market and the company is gearing up to bring its special edition to mark the occasion. The Windsor EV was one of the best-selling electric cars in the country last year and has a strong hold on the market this year as well.
MG keeps introducing new versions of its cars from time to time. Recently the company has introduced the 2026 version of the Hector Storm series. Now preparations are underway to bring a new premium themed edition for the Windsor EV as well. Last year too, the company introduced the Inspire edition of the Windsor EV around the same time. As such, the new Indulge Edition is also expected to get some special design and feature updates.
What will be special about the MG Windsor EV Indulge Edition?
A glimpse of the gold theme and premium look has been seen in the teaser released by the company. This suggests that the new edition may be given special attention to the finishing and design of the cabin. However, not all changes can be confirmed based on the teaser.
In the Indulge Edition, a new upholstery combination has been offered for the seats, consisting of tan and black colours. Indulge branding can also be seen on some parts of the seat, including the headrest. This gives the interior of the car a distinct identity from the standard model.
A special feature of this edition is the roof-mounted flip-down screen for rear passengers. It can be opened downwards as required. At the same time, the infotainment screen is also present in the car as before. In this way the company has emphasized on improving the entertainment experience in the cabin.
What will you get in terms of battery and range?
Currently the MG Windsor EV is available with two battery pack options. It includes 38kWh and 52.9kWh batteries. The smaller battery variant has a claimed range of up to 332 km on a single charge, while the larger battery variant claims to offer a range of up to 449 km.
An electric motor is provided on the front axle with both battery options. This motor generates a power of 136hp and a peak torque of 220Nm. The same powertrain is expected to continue in the Indulge Edition as well. However, the company is yet to share the full official information regarding its battery and range. It is believed to have a 52.9kWh battery pack option.
How much could the price be?
The starting price of Windsor EV with BaaS i.e. battery-as-a-service option is Rs. 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Indulge Edition is likely to be priced slightly higher than the standard variant due to the added premium features and different interiors.
