The Bolero is one of Mahindra’s oldest models in the Indian market. Now the company is gearing up to launch its updated version around the festival. The company has also released a new teaser video of the car. This SUV has been in the market for over 25 years, during which time Mahindra has made many changes to the engine and exterior. Let us tell you what can be found in it.
The company has released the teaser video
Mahindra shared the video on the Bolero’s official social media page with the caption, “Now it’s about to get even more powerful.” The video also reads, “The dust is about to blow.” It shows a glimpse of the Bolero’s front end, hidden behind a cloud of dust. Despite being more than two decades old, the Bolero continues to fare well. It is considered a powerful and strong multi-UV. It is also powerful in terms of engine, which makes it a favorite choice of buyers in rural areas of the country.
A new variant of the existing model
The upcoming Bolero could be a new variant of the existing model, with minor cosmetic changes and new stickers or graphics on the side panels. This may be a special variant of the festive season, intended to remind consumers of this long-standing multi-UV. The Bolero is expected to continue with features like machine-cut alloy wheels, manual air conditioning, fabric seats, analog instrument cluster, power windows for all four doors, fabric headliner and power steering.
These changes may occur
Last year, Mahindra introduced a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the Bolero. It also has Bluetooth and USB connectivity as well as phone mirroring for navigation apps like Google Maps. In the upcoming variants, Mahindra may retain the existing system or introduce a larger touchscreen system. The Bolero is expected to retain the large halogen headlights along with turn indicators and parking light clusters. The metal bumper is also likely to remain unchanged, with the provision of fog lamps as well.
When will it be launched?
The Mahindra Bolero is powered by a 1.5-litre three-cylinder mHawk turbo-diesel engine that generates 75 bhp of power and 210 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and sends power to the rear wheels. Mahindra updated the Bolero’s suspension setup last year, and it is expected that this update will be retained in the upcoming editions as well. The Mahindra Bolero is currently available in B4, B6 and B8 variants, with an ex-showroom price of Rs. 8.57 lakh to Rs. 9.99 lakhs upto. Mahindra may launch or introduce a new version of the Bolero on October 15.
