JSW MG Motor India’s new electric SUV MG Hector Tomahawk EV is getting good response from customers. According to media reports, the booking figure of this SUV has crossed 10 thousand. The special thing is that it has not even been two months since it came to the Indian market. Along with this, the company also introduced the Hector Tomahawk plug-in hybrid model, which is seeing good interest among customers.
Launched in August 2026
Both the SUVs were launched in India on 26 August 2026. These are the first vehicles built on the company’s new ADAPT architecture. Apart from this, the plug-in hybrid model is the company’s first vehicle in India that uses both a petrol engine and an electric motor.
At the time of launch, the starting ex-showroom price of the MG Hector Tomahawk EV was pegged at Rs 19.49 lakh. At the same time, its plug-in hybrid model has a starting price of Rs 25.69 lakh. Deliveries of the electric model began in late September 2026, while deliveries of the plug-in hybrid SUV are planned to begin in November 2026.
Range up to 517 km
The MG Hector Tomahawk EV has a 69.2 kWh battery pack. The company claims that this SUV can run up to 517 kilometers on a single full charge. It can be purchased in three variants. A front-wheel drive system is available as standard.
As for seating, customers can choose a five or seven seater model as per their requirement. This means that this SUV can also be an option for people who need more space to travel with their family.
Plug-in hybrid model
The Hector Tomahawk plug-in hybrid has a 20.5 kWh battery. A 1.5 liter petrol engine is also available with it. With both power sources, the company claims a total range of over 1,100 km. This model can also be run on electric power only. According to the company, its electric-only range is up to 115 km. In such a situation, short daily journeys can be done in electric mode, while for long distances the petrol engine also helps.
Overall, over 10 thousand bookings of MG Hector Tomahawk EV is an important start for the company. Once deliveries of the plug-in hybrid model begin in the near future, it will be interesting to see what response the two SUVs receive from the market.
