Good news for those waiting for Honda’s new electric SUV 0 Alpha. The company has set a date for its first glimpse in India. The Honda 0 Alpha will be launched in India on December 2, 2026. The electric SUV was first shown as a prototype during the Japan Mobility Show in October 2025. Since then the company has been testing it in India. The special thing is that it will be made in the country itself. Along with selling in the domestic market, the company will also export it to other countries.

With the entry of Honda 0 Alpha, the company is gearing up to further expand its range of vehicles in India. Honda Cars India has introduced many new models in the year 2026. These include the City facelift model in May, the ZR-V Hybrid in July and the recently launched Elevate facelift. Now with the arrival of the 0 Alpha, the company will have the option of petrol, hybrid and electric vehicles.

Honda 0 Alpha: What will be the design?

Honda began nationwide testing of the 0 Alpha in March 2026 from its plant in Tapukara, Rajasthan. The company is testing this SUV on different roads and weather conditions. For this vehicles are being driven on highways, congested city roads and difficult roads. During the test, things like its strength, comfortable ride, vehicle balance on turns, energy consumption and reliable performance are being looked into.

The vehicle is also being tested in extreme heat, heavy rain and various types of charging stations. This will help the company understand how the electric SUV performs in Indian conditions.

The vehicles caught on camera during the test looked similar to the concept models shown earlier. It has high ceilings, a straight and strong looking design and large mirrors. Square-shaped wheel arches, smooth body panels and specially designed wheels give it a distinct identity. At the rear, there is a straight tailgate, large rear windscreen, roof spoiler and multi-layered bumper. Its design also seems to have focused on providing more space inside the cabin.

Honda 0 Alpha: What will the interior look like?

Images surfaced so far show a large, horizontal touchscreen inside the SUV. Apart from this, the driver gets a separate digital instrument cluster and a steering wheel with multiple controls. The design of the dashboard looks quite clean, but the company is yet to give full details about the interior and all the features of the production model.

Battery, range and price information pending

Honda is yet to share information regarding battery capacity, motor power, range on a single charge and charging of the 0 Alpha. Its price has also not been disclosed. From this information alone, it will be clear how much this SUV can compete with other electric vehicles in the market.

In India, it can compete with electric SUVs like Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Sierra EV and Mahindra BE 6. Honda has included India among its important markets. The company’s endeavor is to tailor vehicles according to the needs of its customers and keep its prices competitive.

Currently, Honda has the Elevate SUV and City sedan available for sale in India. A hybrid option of the City is also available. Now with the arrival of the 0 Alpha, the company will try to carve out a niche for itself in the electric vehicle market. However, its real picture will be revealed on December 2, when the company may unveil its features and other important information.
