The tension between the two countries has increased after US President Donald Trump’s threat regarding Iran. Responding to Trump, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that the last time America acted against Iran, but Iran emerged stronger than before. He again challenged the US to a military confrontation and said Iran also had some unfinished business.

The last time you tried to finish the job, Iran got stronger,” Araghchi wrote on social media platform X. Do you want to try your luck again? You are welcome. But beware, we also have some unfinished business.

Iran’s foreign minister also accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He said Netanyahu was pushing America into another war to avoid legal action against him in Israel. Araghachi warned that Israel as well as Trump could face dire consequences.

Trump endorsed Netanyahu

Araghchi’s statement followed Trump’s message in which he openly endorsed Netanyahu ahead of Israel’s parliamentary elections scheduled for October 27. Trump addressed the people of Israel on his social media platform Truth Social. He described Netanyahu as a great warrior prime minister and a great ally for peace.

Trump accused Iran of threatening Israel and the US for decades. Referring to Iran’s slogans of ‘Death to Israel’ and ‘Death to America’, he said that Tehran may make good on these threats in the future. Trump claimed that Iran’s military strength and economic status had been significantly weakened. He warned that if Iran does not change its attitude soon, America will soon finish its job.

Appeal for re-election of Netanyahu

Trump appealed to Israeli voters not to elect any other leader than Netanyahu. He said that if Israel chooses the wrong leader, America will have to act on its own. However, he also said that he did not want to do this. Trump fully supports Netanyahu to become prime minister again.

Due to this statement, the ongoing tension between America and Iran has come to the fore again. Araghchi linked Trump’s threat to fears of another war, saying Iran is not afraid of new threats of military action.
