Airtel New Recharge Plans: There are millions of mobile phone users who do not need internet data. Such users are only concerned with talking on the phone or sending important messages. For a long time such customers were forced to recharge data packs. Now if you also do not use internet on your mobile and want to recharge only for calling and SMS, then Airtel’s new plans can be useful for you. Considering the needs of such customers, the company has introduced three new prepaid plans. The biggest feature of this recharge pack is that no mobile data will be available in it. Customers can now take full advantage of unlimited calling even without internet.
The telecom regulator asked Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi) to provide such recharge plans by October 21. Airtel has already launched these plans before the 21st October deadline. Following this move, Airtel has become the first telecom company to implement this new rule. The company offers its customers Rs. 185, Rs. 203 and Rs. 206 has launched three new prepaid plans.
All three new prepaid plans
The validity of these three packs of Airtel is kept different, so that customers can choose the right pack according to their needs. The first recharge is Rs 185, which is for 28 days. The second recharge is for Rs 203, in which customers get 30 days validity. The third and last option is Rs. 206 recharge, which lasts for an entire calendar month. The special thing about the Rs 206 plan is that customers can recharge it on a fixed date every month. This will eliminate the problem of changing the recharge date every month.
You will get these additional benefits with calling
Talking about the benefits available in these three packs, each pack provides unlimited local, STD and roaming calls. Along with this, customers get 300 SMS in all three plans. Apart from calling and SMS, the company is also giving special benefits to its users. Customers who recharge this pack also get ‘HelloTunes’ at no extra cost. Prepaid customers can easily choose this pack from the Airtel app or the company’s website. Apart from this, considering the response of the users, Airtel may also introduce a pack with more validity in the future.
Why did TRAI have to change the rules?
These new recharge plans of Airtel have been introduced under the new rules of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). In fact, TRAI notified the Telecom Consumer Protection (Thirteenth Amendment) Regulations, 2026 on September 22. The regulator found that consumers who primarily use mobile phones for calling and SMS have limited options for low-cost recharges. The regulator also received complaints that calling-only plans were not readily available. The main reason for this was that higher priced data packs are given more importance on recharge platforms.
