Government of Odisha has taken an important initiative to promote digital education and make quality students technologically competent. State Higher Education Department has started online applications for Godabarish Vidyarthi Protsahak Yojana i.e. Odisha Laptop Yojana 2026. Under this scheme, 15,000 selected students who have passed 12th will be given financial assistance of 30,000 rupees to buy a laptop. This amount will be directly transferred to the student’s Aadhaar linked bank account. Eligible students can apply on the official portal till 19 November 2026.
This scheme of Odisha government aims to encourage talented students for digital education. Under this, 15,000 selected students of the state will be given a lump sum of Rs 30,000 to buy a laptop. The money will be sent to the students’ Aadhaar-linked bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Who can apply?
Conditions for availing the benefit of this scheme
- Applicant should be permanent resident of Odisha.
- The student should have passed 12th examination in science, arts, commerce or professional stream from CHSE Odisha.
- Students who have cleared the Upasastri exam from Sri Jagannath Sanskrit University, Puri can also apply.
- Preference will be given to students securing at least 60 percent marks in the examination.
Students who have passed 12th in year 2025 can apply. Apart from this, those students who passed out in 2024 are also eligible, who could not apply last time. The students will be selected from a merit list prepared on the basis of seats allotted block wise, urban local body (ULB), district, subject wise and category wise.
Documents required for application
Students have to prepare some documents before filling the online form. It includes 12th mark sheet and passing certificate, Aadhaar card, active mobile number linked with Aadhaar, bank passbook linked with NPCI and residence certificate of Odisha. Students belonging to SC, ST, OBC and SEBC category will also have to provide caste certificate.
How to apply online?
To apply for the scheme, first visit the official website Scholarship.odisha.gov.in. Click on registration option here and register using Aadhaar number and mobile number. After this, the student should login with the received login details. After login, go to ‘Schemes’ section and select ‘Godabarisha Vidyarthi Incentive Scheme’. Now fill your personal, educational and bank related details in the application form. Submit the form after uploading the required documents.
