Mumbai: The much-awaited first look of Mumbaicha Raja 2026 has been postponed. The first-look and photography session, which was scheduled for September 12, will now take place on a new date and time to be announced officially by the mandal.

The announcement was made through a notice issued for Ganesh devotees, photographers and media representatives. According to the notice, the revised schedule will be communicated through the mandal’s social media channels.

The postponement comes as Mumbai’s Ganeshotsav preparations gather pace. The annual first look of Mumbaicha Raja attracts significant interest among devotees and photographers, who closely follow the idol and festival preparations.

This year’s celebrations will mark the mandal’s 99th year. According to information shared by the mandal, the central attraction will be a 22-foot Ganesh idol created by sculptor Akash Tirmal.

The 2026 theme is based on the Pandharpur Wari and Maharashtra’s devotional heritage. The planned decorations will draw on elements associated with the Wari, including storytelling, Abhangas and traditions followed by Warkaris during their pilgrimage to Pandharpur.

The mandal has also planned a Vaikuntha-inspired representation associated with Saint Dnyaneshwar, along with references to the teachings and Abhangas of five prominent saints. Mandal Vice-President Adwait Padhamkar said the Pandharpur Wari theme was selected to offer something distinctive for the mandal’s 99th year.

With the first-look event postponed, devotees will have to wait for the official announcement before planning their visit around the unveiling. The mandal has not yet announced the revised date and time for the Mumbaicha Raja 2026 first-look event.
