Ban on issuance of appointment letter for recruitment of UP Police Sub Inspector, High Court gives great relief to the candidates

The case regarding Sub Inspector Recruitment 2025 in Uttar Pradesh Police has reached Allahabad High Court. The court has banned the issuance of appointment letters under the recruitment process. This order was passed during the hearing on the petitions filed by the candidates. The petitioners have raised the issue of changes made in some questions in the written examination and non-consideration of their objections by the Recruitment Board. The court has fixed the date of October 5 for the next hearing. Due to this order of the court, the waiting period of the candidates involved in the recruitment process has increased until the status regarding the appointment is clarified.

How many candidates applied for this recruitment?

Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board has released advertisement for direct recruitment 2025 for Sub Inspector Civil Police and equivalent post on 12 August 2025. A total of 15 lakh 75 thousand 706 applications were received for recruitment. A large number of candidates applied for this recruitment.

The written exam was conducted on March 14 and 15. The exam was conducted in two shifts, in which around 10 lakh 77 thousand candidates appeared. After this, the recruitment board declared the result of the written exam on 7th May.

Objections were raised regarding changes in questions

After the results were declared, some candidates raised objections regarding the changes made in the questions during the examination. The petitioners contend that the recruitment board did not properly consider the objections raised by them. After this the candidates approached the Allahabad High Court in this matter.

The next hearing will be held on October 5

The petitions filed by Shyam Sundar, Kamlesh Yadav, Yash Pandey and 44 others were heard by a single bench of Justice Anees Kumar Gupta. Senior Advocate Ashok Khare, Advocate Sanjay Kumar Yadav and Alok Mishra appeared for the petitioners. While hearing the case, the court has stayed the issuance of appointment letters for UP Police SI Recruitment 2025 for now. The next hearing of the case is scheduled for October 5.
