Maruti Suzuki’s dominance continues! Over 1.81 lakh vehicles were sold in September, again becoming No.1

September 2026 was a good month for Maruti Suzuki in terms of sales. The company sold 1,81,838 passenger vehicles in the domestic market. In September 2025, this figure was 1,32,820 units. That is, the sales of domestic passenger vehicles have increased by about 36.91 percent in one year.

The company also saw an increase in sales from August 2026. In August, Maruti Suzuki sold 1,76,971 passenger vehicles in the domestic market. Compared to this, the sales in September were about 2.75 percent higher.

Total sales were also strong

If we talk about the total sales of the company, it also includes exports, light commercial vehicles and supplies to other companies. Maruti Suzuki’s total sales in September stood at 2,36,013 units. In the same month last year, the company sold 1,89,659 units. In this way, an annual increase of 24.44 percent was recorded in the total sales.

There is a boom in the sales of SUVs

In September, Maruti Suzuki’s utility vehicle i.e. SUV and MPV segment attracted the most attention. The company sold 78,911 units in this category, compared to 48,695 units in September 2025.

Accordingly, there was a jump of about 62.05 percent in the sale of utility vehicles. This segment includes models like Brezza, Ertiga, e Vitara, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, Victoris and XL6.

Whereas, sales of mini, compact and midsize cars stood at 91,887 units. Which is 24.02 percent more than last year. Eco sales also increased by 10.01 percent to 11,040 units.

Exports also increased

The company’s exports also improved in September. Maruti Suzuki exported 44,219 units, up 4.77 percent from last year. In the light commercial vehicle segment, Super Carry sales were 3,414 units. An annual increase of 18.09 percent was recorded.

On the other hand, the supply to Toyota was reduced. The figure was 6,542 units in September, which is 44.32 percent less than last year. One of the reasons is believed to be the facelifted model of the Glanza based on the Baleno.

Sales also set a record in the quarter

Maruti Suzuki’s total sales during July to September 2026 were 6,96,654 units. There was an increase of 26.46 percent compared to the same period last year.

Domestic passenger vehicle sales increased by 38.11 percent to 5,55,012 units during this period. At the same time, the company’s total sales for the first half of April to September 2026 were 13,79,378 units, up 27.87 percent year-on-year. The domestic passenger vehicle sales figure crossed 10.80 lakh units during this period.
