He is one of the early employees of ISRO. According to a report in the Deccan Herald, Prasad has worked with scientists like Vikram Sarabhai, APJ Abdul Kalam and Satish Dhawan in his 35-year career. He has contributed to the construction of launch pads, observatories and technical buildings used for ISRO missions. According to reports, he took voluntary retirement from ISRO, after which he worked with construction companies in Delhi, Nepal and Hyderabad. Prasad has three children.
