With hotel bookings almost full for key months like November and February, many leading hotel properties have reported double-digit growth in wedding business. 15 percent increase from last

Roop Pratap Chaudhary, executive director of Marriott International’s Noor Mahal Delhi NCR, Karnal, branded as the country’s first Autograph Collection hotel, told PTI that the hotel’s wedding business has grown by around 15 per cent compared to last year. He said that a sufficient number of marriages for 2027 have already been booked and inquiries are being made till November 2027. Chowdhury said encouraging progress is being seen in the field of marriage ceremonies. Compared to last year, the business has increased by about 15 percent and the range of customers is also continuously increasing.

Business is booming

He said the most important change is that families are now deciding on hotels and venues for weddings much earlier than before. With this, the hotel industry is getting good information about the business for the coming years. He said that the format of the wedding ceremony has also changed. Families are now opting for longer celebrations and personalized events of their choice. Weddings account for about 60 percent of Noor Mahal’s total business. This trend is not limited to Karnal.

All rooms are booked

Kush Kapoor, chief executive officer (CEO) of Rosette Hotels and Resorts, said its Delhi-based resorts are experiencing strong demand for the upcoming winter wedding season and availability is dwindling rapidly in the prime months. Kapoor said that the entire month of November is almost booked at the Delhi-based Rosette, while most of the February dates are already booked. He said that the demand for wedding ceremonies at the resort is very high during the winter season.

The demand is constantly increasing

The wedding season is important for the hotel sector as the demand for rooms, banquets, catering and various event related services increases simultaneously. Many families are now planning more than one day of wedding events, which provides additional business to the hotel industry. This growing demand for weddings comes at a time when the main winter wedding season is just around the corner.
