German luxury car company Audi has launched its new generation Q3 in India. Its starting ex-showroom price has been kept at ₹51.99 lakh. The SUV, which was first introduced in India in 2012, has now completed 14 years and has made a comeback in a new style with the third generation. Audi Q3 has been one of the company’s popular cars in the country. The new model has undergone major changes in design, cabin and features. Apart from this, the power of the engine has also increased.
The design of the new Audi Q3 is completely different from before.
The new Audi Q3 has been given a new look compared to the old model. A slit-LED headlamp design is available at its front end. LED DRLs are provided on top, which also act as dynamic indicators. At the same time, digital matrix LED headlamps have been installed below. These headlamps have around 25,600 individually controlled pixels.
The front of the SUV features a honeycomb pattern grille and 2D Audi logo. The radar for Level 2 ADAS is also positioned behind this grill. The side profile features 18-inch alloy wheels, a self-leveling center cap and silver roof rails. A chrome line running from the driver’s window to the C-pillar and the roof makes its appearance stand out.
The rear gets a new split LED taillamp unit, flanked by a thin light bar. It also comes with an illuminated Audi logo and a silver plate. The company’s new design philosophy can also be seen in the upcoming flagship SUV Q9.
Also increased in size
The new Audi Q3 is now longer and slightly wider than before. It measures 4,531 mm in length, 1,859 mm in width and 1,623 mm in height. Its wheelbase is 2,681 mm. Compared to the old model, the length has increased by 44 mm, width by 10 mm and height by 7 mm. There is only 1mm difference in wheelbase. It has a boot space of 488 litres, which provides good space for storing luggage.
Big changes in the cabin, bigger screen and premium features
Inside the new Q3 too, many changes have been made. The old three-spoke steering wheel has now been replaced by a hexagonal four-spoke steering wheel. A curved display is available on the dashboard, which includes an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment screen.
The company has also provided physical buttons for important functions like drive mode and traction control. Features include a panoramic sunroof, 12-speaker Sonos audio system, head-up display (HUD), three-zone climate control and nine airbags. Apart from this, wireless phone charger, leather upholstery, fabric and wood trim are also available.
The gear selector has also been changed to a stock-type design on the steering column. The rear seats have a fold-down center armrest, front seatback pockets, two USB Type-C charging ports and AC vents.
Engine and performance
The new Audi Q3 is powered by a 2.0L four-cylinder turbo petrol engine. It produces 204 hp of power and 320 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. It also gets paddle shifters and power goes to all four wheels. The engine remains the same, but power has been increased by 14 hp compared to the old model’s 190 hp.
Priced at just ₹ 1.27 lakh, this bike has features that will rival the more expensive bikes! Hero’s Big Bet
