Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund: Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund is a big name among stock market investors. But for some time now, a shocking figure has come to light regarding this fund. The flow of money into the fund every month has suddenly slowed down. In March 2026, this fund will have approximately Rs. 3,950 crore was invested, while by September this figure had come down to just Rs. 900 crores was reached. If seen directly, investment has fallen by a whopping 77 percent in just six months. After such a big decline, many questions are being raised in the market.

The real reason investors lose money

The fund management is not at all worried about this decline in investment. PPFAS Mutual Fund Manager Raj Mehta has clarified that the fall in investment has not affected his strategy. He says that even today new money is coming into the fund. The current market environment is the main reason for declining investment. In recent times, midcap as well as smallcap funds have given excellent returns. In such a situation, investors are shifting their money there after seeing the recent gains. Usually people decide to invest their money only after seeing the returns of the last few months.

Shop in the market instead of keeping cash

On the one hand, less new money is coming into the fund, on the other hand, the fund manager has increased purchases instead of depositing cash. In March, the fund held 18.94 percent of its total assets in cash. It fell to 9.77 percent in September. Raj Mehta says that holding money in cash depends on market conditions. The market has not seen any major bounce in the past few days. Many good stocks have fallen in price. In such a situation, the fund got a great buying opportunity. This is the reason why more money is invested in stocks while reducing cash. 72.06 percent of the fund’s total assets are still in Indian equities. While 11.90 percent has been invested in the foreign market.

The shares in which the money was invested

The fund made several major changes in its strategy in September. Real estate major DLF saw the highest inflow of fresh money in September compared to August. 1.81 percent of total assets are invested in this company alone. With this, investments in companies like Mahindra, Indus Towers to Bharti Airtel have increased. A few select companies in the oil sector have also been bought. On the other hand, the fund has withdrawn all its money from the Great Eastern Shipping Company.

How has the fund performed?

In recent times, this fund’s returns have definitely looked a little weak. Within one year, his regular plan has given a negative return of 4.14 percent. If we compare it with the benchmark Nifty 500 TRI, it has also seen a decline of 2.03 percent. Even if profits are not shown in short term, this fund has always been beneficial for long term investors. Whether we talk about three, five or ten years, the fund has always outperformed its benchmark and filled investors’ pockets.
