There is no age limit to learning… Krishna Kumar Gupta, one of the oldest students associated with Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), has turned his studies into an inspiring achievement. Krishna Kumar Gupta, aged 74, obtained his MA in Social Work from IGNOU’s School of Social Work last year. His achievement has been recorded in the ‘Golden Book of World Records’ (GBWR). He has been awarded a world record by the ‘Golden Book of World Records’ (GBWR) as the oldest person to complete a Masters in Social Work programme, in recognition of his dedication to education and the successful completion of his Masters in Social Work degree. Krishna Kumar Gupta, currently 75 years old, recently received this honour.

Krishna Kumar Gupta was among the earliest volunteers of the NSS.

At the age of 75, Krishna Kumar Gupta was recently honored by the Department of Youth Affairs (NSS Department), Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. In fact, he was credited as one of the first volunteers to lay the foundation of the National Service Scheme (NSS). The Ministry started NSS at Kirori Mal College of Delhi University during 1967-69.

Krishna Kumar thanked IGNOU

Krishna Kumar Gupta has thanked IGNOU for being honored with a world record by the Golden Book of World Records (GBWR). He has thanked IGNOU for giving him the opportunity to pursue higher education. He said that it was an honor for him to be included among the special alumni of IGNOU.

IGNOU Vice Chancellor Prof. Uma Kanjilal congratulated Krishnakumar Gupta. Appreciating his amazing journey, he said that at this stage of his age, he has gained global recognition by obtaining the degree of ‘Master in Social Work’. The Vice Chancellor also appreciated him for his important contribution in the early stages of NSS.
