There is relief news for candidates preparing for Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2027. The Consortium of National Law Universities has extended the application deadline to 7 November 2026. In such situation the students who could not apply till now have got extra time to fill the form. Through this examination, admission to five-year integrated LLB and one-year LLM courses is available in more than 24 national law universities of the country.
Interested candidates can apply online by visiting the official website consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The exam will be held on 6 December 2026.
CLAT 2027 Exam Date and Time
According to the information released by the Consortium of National Law Universities, the CLAT 2027 exam will be held on Sunday, 6 December 2026. The exam will be conducted in a single shift from 2 PM to 4 PM. There is no change in the exam syllabus and pattern this year. So candidates can continue their preparation as per previous pattern.
Educational Qualification for CLAT 2027
For UG Courses: For admission to the five-year integrated LLB programme, the candidate must have passed 12th or its equivalent examination. General category candidates should have minimum 45 per cent marks, while for SC and ST category candidates the minimum marks has been fixed at 40 per cent. There is no maximum age limit for application.
For PG Courses: For admission to one year LLM programme, one must have LLB or its equivalent degree from a recognized university. A minimum of 50 percent marks is required for general category candidates. The minimum marks for SC and ST categories is 45 percent. There is also no upper age limit prescribed in this.
CLAT 2027 Exam Pattern
The CLAT UG exam will be of two hours duration, with a total of 120 multiple choice questions. One mark will be awarded for each correct answer, while 0.25 marks will be deducted for giving a wrong answer. The question paper will consist of five topics. These include English Language, Current Affairs and General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Techniques.
