There is a sudden change in the weather. Due to this, the weather has changed in many parts of the country and after the departure of monsoon, rainy weather has started once again. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain in many areas of Jharkhand, keeping in view the decision to close all schools in Ranchi on Saturday. In this regard, the District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi has issued a notification, under which schools from nursery to 12th in Ranchi will remain closed.

This order has been issued for all types of government/non-government aided (including minority) and all private schools running in Ranchi district. All these schools will not conduct nursery to 12th classes on Saturdays.

If the school opens, the administration will take action

Ranchi District District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri has ordered closure of all schools in the district on Saturday, September 26 in view of the possibility of heavy rain. This order has been issued under Section 34 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005. The order clarified that if any school does not comply with this order, action will be taken against the concerned school/institution under the relevant section of the Disaster Management Act-2005.

Yellow Alert for Ranchi

The Jharkhand Meteorological Center of the Indian Meteorological Department has issued a special bulletin on September 25. In which a heavy rain alert has been issued in the state. In view of the heavy rains, Ranchi has been placed under the Yellow Zone category, in view of which the district administration has issued an order to keep schools closed.

In view of the warning of heavy rain, an order has been issued to close schools from KG to Class 12 in all categories of Government/Non-Government aided (including minority) and all private schools running in the district tomorrow 26.09.2026. This mandate is under the Disaster Management Act 2005.

Teachers have to mark attendance online

Schools will remain closed in Ranchi on Saturday. However, teachers and other employees working in all government schools have to compulsorily register their attendance in e-VidyaVahini. Along with this non-academic work also has to be done. The order issued also directed that if compulsory examinations are organized in any school during this period, the head of the school concerned will take a decision regarding their conduct at his discretion.
