The National Board of Examination and Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has taken a major decision regarding the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) Super Specialty (SS). NBSEM has now reduced the qualifying percentile of NEET SS 2025, under which the qualifying percentile has now been reduced from 50 to 30 percent. After this change, even if candidates have 30 percent percentile in NEET SS 2025, they will be able to pursue medical super specialty course to become a special doctor. NBSEM has released official information in this regard on Tuesday, September 22.

Now admission to medical SS course on 30 percentile instead of 50

Along with reducing the NEET SS 2025 percentile, NBEMS has also shared the revised result with the Director General Health Services. Under this change, candidates securing 30th percentile or more in NEET SS instead of 50th have been declared pass. Along with this, NBEMS has also released the qualifying cutoff of 15 NEET Super Specialty Papers, under which candidates securing 180 marks out of 600 in the Medical Oncology Group Paper have also been declared pass. Why was the decision taken?

Giving information, NBEMS has said that the decision to reduce the NEET SS 2025 qualifying percentile was taken on the basis of a letter from the Ministry of Family and Health Welfare, which ordered the reduction of the qualifying percentile from 50 to 330 percent citing Rich’s petition dated September 17, 2026 in the Supreme Court.

A new score card will not be issued

Giving information, NBEMS has stated that after qualifying percentile of NEET SS 2025, new score card will not be issued. Also there will be no change in the group specific order announced on 23 January 2026. NBEMS has stated that in case of any problem or query NBEMS can be contacted officially.
