There is an opportunity to work in National Testing Agency (NTA) for candidates who are looking for government jobs. The agency has invited applications to fill up two posts of Librarian. These appointments will be made on contract basis at NTA Headquarters in New Delhi. Candidates with Bachelor’s degree in Library Science and minimum five years experience in related field can apply. Retired Government Officers are also given an opportunity to apply for this recruitment. The appointment will be for two years

A total of two posts of librarian will be appointed by NTA. Selected candidates will be initially hired on contract for two years. The contract may be extended based on need and performance review. Candidates to note that this recruitment is not for regular government jobs.

Educational qualification

Candidates applying from the open market must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science from a recognized university or institution. In addition, at least five years of experience in library management work is required. Retired Government Officers can also apply for this post. For this, the candidate must be retired from Central or State Government, Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) or any autonomous body. He should have worked as Librarian, Deputy Librarian, Assistant Librarian, Library and Information Officer or equivalent post. They should also have five years of experience in the relevant field.

Age limit and salary

The maximum age limit for open market candidates has been fixed at 50 years. At the same time, the age of retired government officials should not exceed 62 years. What does a librarian do?

The person appointed to this post will be entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining and managing the library of NTA. This includes organizing books and digital materials, maintaining library records and providing necessary information to officers and staff. Candidate should also have knowledge of library management software, digital databases, computer systems and automated cataloging.
