The cost can also be quite high if the phone’s screen breaks or needs to be repaired out of warranty.

Apple’s support website mentions different charges for iPhone Duo repairs. The most expensive of these jobs is interior replacement. For this the company will charge Rs 1,49,900. This means that just repairing the internal screen can cost almost half of the original price of the phone. This amounts to the iPhone 18 Pro starting price of Rs. 1,64,900 is very close.

How much does an iPhone Duo screen repair cost?

The iPhone Duo has two displays, so the repair costs are also different. According to Apple’s list, one has to pay Rs 1,49,900 to replace the internal screen. At the same time, the charge for repairing the external screen is Rs 42,900.

If the rear glass is also broken along with the outer screen, the cost of repair will increase to Rs 55,900. You will have to pay Rs 20,900 just to replace the rear glass. Apart from this, the battery service charge is Rs 24,900 and the rear camera repair cost is Rs 26,900.

5,900 will have to be paid in case of damage to the outer cover layer of the phone. At the same time, the company lists a charge of up to Rs 2,24,900 for repairing other types of damage. In such a situation, if the phone gets seriously damaged, the cost can be quite high.

How much will you save by taking AppleCare?

To avoid such expensive repair costs, taking an AppleCare plan can be an option. However, the price of this plan for iPhone Duo is not low either. Its fee has been kept at Rs 51,900. Under this, accidents like falls or damage due to water and other liquid products can be repaired, as per the prescribed conditions. Also, help from Apple experts is available on a priority basis.

However, having AppleCare does not mean that every repair will be free. A separate service fee is also payable for damages not included in the cover. This plan does not provide protection in case of phone theft or loss.

Battery service charge under AppleCare is Rs 0. You will have to pay Rs 1,900 to repair the cover layer, while repairing the back glass or outer screen will cost you Rs 2,500. The most important thing is that with this plan, the internal screen replacement cost comes down to Rs 8,900. There is also a charge of Rs 8,900 for other covered accidental damage.

Without AppleCare the cost can run into the millions

If the screen inside the phone breaks, without AppleCare you will have to spend Rs 1,49,900. Under the scheme, Rs 8,900 will have to be paid for this repair. That is, in this case, about 1.41 lakh rupees can be saved.

However, for AppleCare Rs. 51,900 has to be paid upfront and even then a fixed service fee is applicable on each covered incident. So, iPhone Duo buyers should consider the cost of repairs and security along with the price of the phone. As expensive as buying this phone at around Rs 3 lakh is, it is equally important to protect it from damage.
