There is no change in gold and silver prices in Delhi

Gold and silver prices remained unchanged in national capital Delhi on Monday. In fact, due to low domestic demand, the prices of both remained in a limited range. According to local traders, the price of gold of 99.9 per cent purity including all taxes is Rs. 1,49,800 per 10 grams, while silver prices stood at Rs. 2,27,000 per kg. Local prices remained in a limited range, traders said. Precious metal prices did not see much movement due to low demand from jewelers and retailers.

There was a boom in foreign markets

Saumil Gandhi, Senior Commodity Analyst, HDFC Securities, said gold prices remained steady in the domestic market despite strong trend in overseas markets. However, he said further gains in precious metals prices were limited due to the strength of the US dollar. Spot gold prices rose slightly to $4,156.62 an ounce on the global market, while silver rose more than 2 percent to $61.70 an ounce.

The dollar index rises

“Spot gold prices edged up marginally to $4,157 an ounce due to some softening in crude oil prices,” said Praveen Singh, head of commodities at Mir Asset Sharekhan. He said the US dollar index had breached the 102.50 level, the highest level since April 10. Gold is expected to remain flat and US inflation is expected to remain flat, the manager of Monarch PMS said. It is likely to be in a good position due to the clarity, the traditional increase in physical demand during the October and November festivals and central bank demand.
