Toyota has released a teaser of the facelift model of its popular hatchback Glanza. The new Glanza will be launched on 14 October 2026. The car’s front design has been glimpsed in the teaser, but this time the changes are not expected to be limited to the exterior. Like the updated model of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, the Toyota Glanza may also get a new three-cylinder Z-series petrol engine. The Glanza is based on the Baleno, so the two cars are likely to share some design and features.
Toyota Glanza Facelift Exterior
The teaser shows the new Glanza grille, which has been given a mesh-style design. Additionally, the Toyota logo is now placed on the leading edge of the bonnet instead of the grille. The round LED fog lamps seen in the current model can be replaced with new rectangular design lamps. Similar changes have been made to the updated Baleno as well.
The rest of the design of the car is not yet known about how many changes will be made. However, the changes made to the front profile may give it a different identity from the current model.
What will be new and features in the cabin?
The cabin layout of the new Glanza may remain the same as the current model, but some new features of the updated Baleno may be incorporated. It includes ventilated front seats, wireless charging pad with cooling support and branded audio system.
The updated Baleno also features Level 2 ADAS. Under this, features like adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist and high-beam assist are available. Whether these features will be offered in the new model of Toyota Glanza is currently not confirmed. Apart from this, the car can get a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with head-up display, automatic climate control, 360-degree camera and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.
A new Z-series engine is expected
The current Toyota Glanza is powered by a 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. In its place, the facelift model may get a 1.2-litre three-cylinder Z-series engine. In the updated Baleno, this engine produces 81bhp of power and 112Nm of torque on the petrol. The CNG version has an output of 69bhp and 102Nm.
This engine is available with a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox in the Baleno. The same options can be offered in the Glanza facelift as well. However, it is not yet clear whether the AMT gearbox will be available with the CNG version or not.
How much could the price be?
Currently, the petrol variant of Toyota Glanza is priced at Rs. 6.73 lakh to Rs. 9.99 lakh is between. Whereas, the CNG model costs Rs. 8.49 lakh and Rs. 9.53 lakh available. The facelift model is expected to cost more than the existing car.
E, S, G and V variants may continue in the new Glanza. Currently, the CNG option is available in the S and G variants with a manual gearbox. Other information regarding the price, features and variants of the new car may be revealed at the time of its launch on October 14.
