Google is gearing up to launch its new fitness tracker Fitbit Edge on October 12. The company hinted at its launch date through a post on social media platform X on Friday. However, all the features of the device and its price have not been revealed yet.
Metal body and new color option
The image shared by Google did not fully reveal the design of the Fitbit Edge. However, some hints of this are definitely visible from the picture. The design of this tracker has been discussed in the leaked images before. The new teaser image shows that the company might give it a metal body. This is expected to give the device a premium look.
Apart from this, the Canyon color scheme can also be seen in the Fitbit Edge. Google introduced this color for the first time with Pixel Watch 5. Now the company may continue this in its new fitness tracker as well. However, information about all the color options available at launch is yet to be revealed.
The battery can last up to 7 days
According to a report by 9to5Google, the leaks that have surfaced so far have also made claims about the Fitbit Edge’s battery life. It is being said that this tracker can last for around 7 days on a single charge. If this information proves to be true, users will not need to charge it frequently.
The leaks also mention iPhone support and the integration of Google’s AI assistant Gemini. That means this tracker may not be limited to only Android phones. However, to confirm these features, we have to wait for the official announcement from the company.

The company also gave similar answers to questions asked about the launch in Japan and Turkey. It is currently unclear when the device will be available in these countries.
What’s new in the Google Health 5.10 update?
Apart from Fitbit Edge, Google is also rolling out the Google Health 5.10 update for Android and iOS this week. Three new features are being included in this app. Under the update, the irregular rhythm notification feature will roll out on Pixel Watch and Fitbit devices in Japan. Additionally, new indicators are being added to the Readiness Score, so users can get more personalized information regarding their preparation and recovery.
Another change is related to Google Health Coach. If a user mistakenly logs any information, he can now delete it through voice chat. This can make it easier than ever to correct information entered into the app.
