Mahindra has finally launched the XUV 3XO CNG SUV in the Indian market after a long wait. Which is named ZNG. Its starting price is Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The factory-fitted CNG model comes in four variants: MX EDGE, REVX EDGE (O), AX5 and REVX A. The top-spec variant is priced at Rs. 12.27 lakh (ex-showroom). The compact SUV has a dual-cylinder CNG engine under the boot floor and a turbocharged bio-fuel engine that generates 200 Nm of torque.

The XUV 3XO CNG has two cylinders mounted on either side under the luggage compartment. Due to this, enough space is left on top of the tanks to store goods. Mahindra has provided a separate fuel selection switch inside the cabin to switch between petrol and CNG. This two-cylinder arrangement provides the new model with the option of a single-cylinder installation, which takes up a large portion of the boot space.

Mahindra XUV 3XO (ZNG) engine

The SUV is powered by Mahindra’s 1.2 liter mStallion G12 turbocharged MPFI engine, which generates around 110 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque. Peak torque is between 1,500 and 3,500 rpm. The engine includes a dedicated CNG injection system and a turbocharger optimized for bio-fuel operation. Mahindra claims that the vehicle accelerates from 0 to 60 kmph in 4.9 seconds and 0 to 100 kmph in 11.8 seconds.

As before, the XUV 3XO CNG gets independent MacPherson strut front suspension and a semi-independent twist-beam rear axle. The chassis is fitted with MTV-CL dampers with calibrated springs and anti-roll bars. The rear suspension has a spring separation of 1,108 mm for good lateral stability. The SUV also gets third-generation electric power steering, with normal, comfort and sports modes.

Mahindra XUV 3XO (ZNG) Safety Features

You get powerful safety features in this car. It includes six airbags, four disc brakes, ISOFIX child-seat anchorage with top tether and three-point seatbelts for all passengers. Seatbelt reminders are provided for each seat and a passenger airbag activation function is also available. This SUV can travel up to 350 mm in water and has an approach angle of 23.6 degrees.

Mahindra XUV 3XO (ZNG) Dimensions

The XUV 3XO CNG measures 3,990 mm in length and 1,821 mm in width, with a wheelbase of 2,600 mm. According to Mahindra, it has a seat width of 1,729 mm, front seat legroom of 1,050 mm and rear seat legroom of 878 mm. Hip room in the cabin is 1,337 mm for the front seats and 1,308 mm for the rear seats.

Mahindra XUV 3XO (ZNG) Variant Price

The CNG model gets features like 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, electric sunroof and 16-inch alloy wheels. REVX EDGE (O) is priced at Rs. 10.79 lakh, while the AX5 is priced at Rs. 11.19 lakhs. The top-spec REVX A is priced at Rs. 12.27 lakh, making the CNG lineup Rs. There is a difference of 2.28 lakhs. The new model competes with the CNG variants of Tata Nexon and Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
