This is an important update for candidates appearing for NEET PG 2026 counselling. The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) has released the final seat matrix for postgraduate medical courses. In which information is given about seats available in various courses including MD, MS and DNB. At the same time, the process of registration and selection for round 1 counseling also has to be completed as per the stipulated time. So, candidates must check the seat matrix and important dates.
MCC released the final seat matrix
The seat matrix released by the Medical Counseling Committee details the various quotas and seats available in the institutes. According to this, 13,522 seats are available for MD and MS courses under All India Quota. Apart from this, 727 seats have been included under Central Internal Quota. Total 9,201 seats are available for DNB programme. At the same time, information has been given about 7,537 seats in deemed universities.
Government and Private DNB Seats
The final seat matrix also provides details of DNB seats from government and private institutions. According to the information received, there are 2,582 seats in government institutions and 6,619 in private institutions. Thus, a total of 9,201 seats are available in DNB programs. Candidates can decide their preferred options based on the number of seats, quota and type of institution.

Important dates
Last date of registration for Round 1 Counseling is 21 October 2026. At the same time, the selection filling and locking process will end on 22 October 2026. The first round seat allotment result is scheduled to be declared on 24 October 2026. Candidates are advised to visit all STCC websites to complete the official information update within the time.
