If there is a passion to do something new then even limited resources do not stand in the way of success. Ravi Tamta has also done something similar. Ravi, who is studying BA, has built a prototype of an electric flying car without an engineering degree. The dream came true through experiments by taking information from the internet. Their single seater vehicle is named HAPIDA SKYNeX.

The idea of easing the difficulties of movement in hilly areas became the inspiration for his invention. Let’s know about Ravi Tamta and his special project.

Who is Ravi Tamta?

Ravi Tamta is a resident of Kaflikhan village located near Jageshwar Dham in Almora district of Uttarakhand. He did his early education from a village junior high school and later obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from the Nainital campus. Her father Harish Ram is a mechanic.

How was the flying car model made?

Despite not having a big technical environment in the family, Ravi continued his efforts to learn technology. He gathered information with the help of the internet and after many years of experimenting, he developed a model of a flying car.

The idea came from the difficulties of the hilly area

Traveling in the hilly areas of Uttarakhand is not easy. Even emergencies like reaching the hospital are difficult due to uneven roads and long distances. Seeing this problem, the idea of personal air mobility i.e. small flying vehicles came to Ravi’s mind. Their aim was to create an alternative that could help ease people’s commute.

When did you start working on the flying car?

According to media reports, Ravi started working on this project in the year 2015. He developed the prototype of HAPIDA SKYNeX through his company Hapida Sky Private Limited. It is a battery powered single seater vehicle, with several electric motors and propellers installed.

What is its specialty?

Its specialty is the Vertical Takeoff and Landing (VTOL) concept, meaning it is designed to take off and land directly without a runway. However, it is still in its early stages and needs further development for commercial use.

Have searched a lot before this

Ravi Tamta has built many useful machines before. According to reports, their inventions include mobile charging shoes, smart sticks for the visually impaired, bamboo splitting machines and fire extinguishers.

Compared to Tesla

Ravi’s flying car prototype is being discussed and is also being compared to Tesla’s flying car. However, the commercial success of any prototype depends on its technology, safety testing and practical use. Ravi’s story shows that with willingness to learn, hard work and constant experimentation, new ideas can be taken forward.
