October 2026 was a very special month for Maruti Suzuki in terms of sales. The company set its biggest monthly sales record ever this month. Including sales in the domestic market, exports and supply to Toyota, Maruti sold a total of 2,76,120 vehicles. Which is 25 percent more than last year’s October. Earlier, the company’s highest monthly sales record was in May 2026, when around 2.43 lakh vehicles were sold. This time, increased supply from overseas along with good demand for cars and SUVs in the domestic market also contributed to the record sales.
Sales in the domestic market have increased by more than 20 percent
In October 2026, Maruti Suzuki sold 2,12,384 vehicles in the Indian market. The company’s domestic sales in the same month last year were 1,76,318 units. It means a year-on-year increase of 20.46 percent in sales and the company has sold 36,066 more vehicles compared to October 2025. Even if compared to September 2026, there has been a good increase in sales. In September, the company sold 1,81,838 vehicles, while in October this figure increased by 16.80 percent.
The total sales of mini, compact and midsize cars stood at 1,00,877 units. A year ago in October, 85,210 vehicles of this range were sold. This includes models like Alto, Baleno, Celerio, Ciaz, Dzire, Ignis, S-Presso, Swift and WagonR.
The SUV sales are close to 98 thousand units
Maruti’s utility vehicle category also played an important role in boosting the company’s sales. The segment sold 97,787 vehicles in October, while the figure was 77,571 units in the same month last year. Thus, the sales of SUVs and other utility vehicles have increased by about 26.06 percent.
Models like Brezza, Ertiga, e-Vitara, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, Victoris and XL6 fall into this category. At the same time, sales of Eeco also increased marginally to 13,720 units. In October 2025, it sold 13,537 units.
Exports have also increased by over 59 percent
Demand for Maruti vehicles has increased in foreign markets as well. The company exported 49,872 vehicles in October 2026, while 31,304 vehicles were exported in October last year. That means exports have increased by 59.32 percent. An increase of 12.78 percent was also recorded compared to September.
Exports accounted for around 18.06 percent of the company’s total sales in October. Maruti Suzuki managed to achieve its highest ever monthly sales figure in October due to growing demand for cars and SUVs in the domestic market and more vehicles being shipped overseas.
