What children ask on ChatGPT, now news will reach parents! OpenAI took a big step forward on weaponized information

Nowadays kids are also using AI tools like ChatGPT to study and get answers to their questions. But information derived from AI can also be misused. Considering this threat, OpenAI has decided to make the security rules more stringent for users under 18 years of age. Now ChatGPT will not provide children with information about weapons and security systems that could be used to harm someone. Answers to some common questions will also be limited.

ChatGPT rules have become stricter than ever

According to OpenAI, ChatGPT is already banned for helping children buy, buy weapons or plan violence. Now the company has expanded this scope further. Under the new rules, information related to the use of weapons and security systems, which could be misused, will not be provided.

However, children can ask ChatGPT for help to stop violence, break up a fight or get out of a difficult situation. If necessary, the AI will also advise them to talk to a trusted elder.

Chat may be closed for repeatedly asking questions related to violence.

If the user continues to talk about violence, ChatGPT may interrupt the conversation. If this happens repeatedly, OpenAI may temporarily close that account.

These rules are not limited to children. Now users of any age will not get detailed information about weapons and equipment used in previous major attacks. Information about methods to achieve them will also be limited.

Parents will also get information

OpenAI will also look at how it uses ChatGPT to estimate a user’s behavior and age. If the system detects that the user is under 18 years of age, he or she will be redirected to the ChatGPT version for teenagers.

If the child’s continuous communication related to violence is prohibited, his parents can also be informed about this. At the same time, a person mistakenly believed to be a minor will be able to prove his age through persona.

According to OpenAI, in the third quarter of 2026, more than 200 cases based on serious questions related to violence were referred to law enforcement agencies. The company will gradually release the new security features to all users over the coming weeks.
