This is an important update for the candidates appearing for the second round of counseling of NEET PG 2026. Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) has changed the schedule of round-2 counselling. Under this, the registration and fee payment process will now start from 7 November 2026 instead of 6 November. This decision has been taken after receiving information from the National Medical Commission (NMC) about the new post graduate medical seats.
In such a situation, candidates preparing for admission to MD, MS and other PG medical courses will have to complete the further process as per the revised schedule.
Now the registration will start from 7th November
The Medical Counseling Committee has changed the dates for the second round of counseling for NEET PG 2026. As per the new update issued by MCC, the registration and fee deposit process will start from November 7. Earlier, November 6 was fixed for this. Through this counselling, candidates will get admission in MD, MS and other postgraduate medical courses. Candidates appearing in the second round will now have to apply as per the new date.
Changes due to addition of new medical seats
As per the official notification of MCC, National Medical Commission (NMC) provided the updated matrix of PG Medical Seats on November 3, 2026. New medical seats sanctioned recently have been included in it. The concerned medical colleges and institutes have been instructed to verify these seats before adding them to the counselling. For this the colleges have to check the correct number of seats by implementing the reserved roster. This process is to be completed by November 6.
Medical colleges have to match seats.
For inclusion of new seats, MCC has asked the concerned institutions to check the seat details. Colleges have to ensure that their allotment is correct as per the number of seats offered by them and the reservation. If there is any difference in the number of seats, it has to be reported to MCC. After completion of verification, counseling will proceed based on revised seat matrix.
Check the new schedule on the MCC website
Candidates appearing for the second round of NEET PG 2026 can check the counseling related information on the official website mcc.nic.in.
