Samsung has introduced a new and different kind of wireless earphones in its Galaxy Buds lineup. The company has launched the Galaxy Buds On with a clip-on design. That means it won’t need to be placed inside the ear, rather it will fit around the ear like a clip.

Its open design does not completely close the ear. In such condition, while listening to music or making a call, ambient sounds can also be heard. This can be especially useful when traveling or walking outdoors. According to Samsung, the Galaxy Buds On can play music for up to 9.5 hours on a single charge.

How much is the price?

Samsung Galaxy Buds On is priced at 2,99,000 Korean Won. In Indian currency it is approximately Rs. 21,000 is. It will go on sale first in South Korea from October 27. Here it will currently be available in black color. After this it will be launched in other countries as well.

No need to put in the ear

The most distinctive feature of the Galaxy Buds On is its clip-on design. It is placed on the outside of the ear rather than inside the ear. Samsung has designed it with different ear sizes in mind. The company has also kept the speaker and battery space accordingly. Its large contact area and adjustable band help keep the earphones in place even on the go. Surrounding sounds can also be heard while listening to music due to the open design. This can make it easier to pay attention to the surroundings while walking outside.

Special features to improve sound

Galaxy Buds On features Samsung’s TwinBoost speakers. It also has an automatic volume control, which can change the volume level according to the surrounding noise.

Apart from this, it has audio leakage reduction technology. Its function is to reduce the noise coming out of the earphones. In such cases, it can be beneficial in places like cafes or libraries.

The battery will last 9.5 hours

Samsung claims that the Galaxy Buds On can provide up to 9.5 hours of music playback once fully charged. For performance, it is provided with Qualcomm Snapdragon S7 Gen 1 Sound Platform and Class-D amplifier. However, Samsung is yet to share its full battery capacity and all information regarding charging.

You will also get help in making calls

Galaxy Buds On has three microphones for calling. Along with this, a bone-conduction based voice pickup unit sensor and machine learning have been used. With the help of these features, the earphones try to separate the user’s voice from other surrounding sounds. Samsung says this can help keep call sound clear even in the midst of strong wind or noise from devices running in the home.

Smart features will be available with Galaxy AI

Galaxy Buds On also offer several hands-free features when used with Samsung’s compatible Galaxy AI devices. User can start Gemini Live by voice. Apart from this, notes can be recorded from Quick Voice Memo. It also has a head gesture feature, with the help of which tasks like answering calls, turning off alarms and viewing message notifications can be done with the help of head gestures.

This way it will connect to the Galaxy phone

When Galaxy Buds On’s charging case is opened, it can be connected to compatible Galaxy smartphones and tablets. User can only change earphone volume and equalizer from phone settings or quick panel. For this there is no need to open the Galaxy Wearable app every time.

Some important clarifications are still pending

Samsung is yet to reveal some important specifications of the Galaxy Buds On. This includes full driver information, Bluetooth version, supported audio codecs and battery charging details. More information about this may come out after the sale starts in South Korea from October 27.
