Tata Arisen recently paid Rs. 5.29 lakh has been launched at a starting ex-showroom price. At first glance this car might look like an updated version of the old Tigor, but Tata has made a lot of changes to it. Along with a new design and a more modern cabin, the Aris also borrows many design elements from the Tiago.

However, its mechanical setup remains largely the same as before. The real highlight of Eris is its features. Especially at a time when the Maruti Suzuki Dzire is the best selling sedan in the segment.

The Dzire’s sales and popularity are strong, but the Tata Aeris brings some modern features that the Dzire doesn’t find. Some of these features are being seen for the first time in this budget segment. That means Tata’s focus is not just on competing with the Dzire in terms of sales, but also on attracting customers by offering more features.

Ventilated front seats

The Tata Eris is the first sedan in its segment to feature ventilation for the front seats. This feature is usually found in expensive and premium cars.

This feature is available in the top-spec Complete variant, which starts at Rs 8.19 lakh. It also has leatherette seats, which gives the cabin of the car a more premium look and feel.

Wireless charger

Eris has also taken care of the convenience of phone users. The car’s center console features a dual smartphone deck, with a wireless charging pad along with a phone holder. This feature is also available in the top-spec variant. The special thing is that this feature is not available in Maruti Suzuki Dzire.

In-built dashcam

In Tata Aris, the company has provided a dashcam inside the car. This segment has a special feature. In this, video can be recorded from the front, back and both sides using the car’s surround-view camera system.

This feature is available in the top unfinished variant. Its advantage is that consumers do not need to purchase and install dashcams separately. At the same time, the factory-fitted dashcam option is not available in the Maruti Suzuki Dzire.

360 degree camera and blind view monitor

Aris has been provided with blind view monitors for both ORVMs along with 360 degree camera system. This feature is available from the Creative variant.

This gives the driver a clear view of the car’s surroundings and helps see things in the blind spot. In comparison, the Honda Amaze gets a single-side blind-spot camera, while the Dzire does not have this feature.

Largest 10.25 inch infotainment system in the segment

The Tata Aris has a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which the company is calling the largest display in the segment. It is available in Creative variant.

In comparison, the Honda Amaze and Hyundai Aura have an 8-inch screen, while the Maruti Suzuki Dzire has a 9-inch infotainment system. In such a situation, the large screen of Eris gives a more modern look to the cabin of the car.

Challenge Desire based on symptoms

Maruti Suzuki Dzire leads the segment in terms of sales, but Tata Aris makes the competition interesting in terms of features. Features like ventilated seats, in-built dashcam, 360 degree camera, wireless charging and 10.25 inch screen give the Eris a distinct identity.
