The dream of buying a new car, the budget is ready and the SUV of choice is chosen, but one question still remains that when will the car come home? Often there is a wait of several weeks between choosing a car and getting the keys. In such a situation, if you are planning to buy Maruti Brezza, Mahindra Thar or Tata Nexon in October 2026, it would be beneficial to wait for them before booking.

The delivery time of these three SUVs in Delhi may vary. According to media reports, the wait may be around 1 to 2 months for Brezza, 1 to 3 months for Thar and around 2 months for Nexon. However, this time may vary depending on the model selected and stock available at the dealer.

Maruti Brezza: If you want a car fast, check the stock first.

Maruti Brezza is a good option for people who want a comfortable and family-friendly SUV for everyday use. But if you book it in October, you may have to wait around 1 to 2 months for delivery in Delhi.

In other cities the picture is somewhat different. As per CarDekho reports, the Brezza could be available in Chennai and Jaipur in around 2 to 4 weeks. While Bengaluru, Chandigarh and Coimbatore can wait up to 2 months. If you need a car before Diwali or a special occasion, ask about the vehicles available in the showroom before booking. It is possible that instead of your favorite color, you may get a model in a different color. Maruti Suzuki Brezza ex-showroom price starts at ₹7.50 lakh and goes up to ₹13.71 lakh for the top model.

Mahindra Thar: The wait for this SUV can be long

Mahindra Thar’s powerful looks and ability to drive on bad roads make it stand out from other vehicles. This is the reason why people who buy it are often willing to wait for the model of their choice.

According to information available on CarDekho, the waiting period for Thar in Delhi can be around 1 to 3 months. However, the delivery time of each variant will not be the same. The waiting time may be shorter or shorter depending on the engine, color and availability of the vehicle in the showroom.

If you have decided to buy Thar, at the time of booking, definitely ask the dealer for the expected delivery date. This will help you estimate when your new SUV will arrive home. The Mahindra Thar OG (3-door) is priced between ₹10.32 lakh and ₹18.99 lakh ex-showroom. Whereas, the starting ex-showroom price of the larger Mahindra Thar Rocks (5-door) ranges from ₹12.52 lakh to ₹23.53 lakh.

Tata Nexon: Delivery may be available in around 2 months

Tata Nexon is also a favorite choice of SUV buyers. According to a CarDekho report dated September 2026, the wait for this SUV in Delhi could be around 10 to 60 days. The Nexon may soon be available in some other cities as well. According to the report, its delivery in Bengaluru, Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Lucknow can be done in about 1 to one and a half months. However, availability of petrol, diesel and electric models may vary. So, before booking, decide which model you want. If it is not immediately available, you can ask the dealer about other types.

Ex-showroom price of Tata Nexon varies by variant and engine – Petrol and Diesel variants: Ex-showroom price ranges from ₹ 7.40 lakh to ₹ 14.40 lakh (top models like Fearless Plus PS Red Dark Diesel AMT cost up to ₹ 14.52 lakh). At the same time, the CNG variant: Ex-showroom price ranges between ₹8.99 lakh to ₹14.59 lakh. Nexon EV: Ex-showroom price ranges between ₹12.49 lakh to ₹17.89 lakh.

Which SUV will have the longest wait?

If we look at the estimated waiting period in Delhi, the wait may be 1 to 2 months for Brezza, around 2 months for Nexon and 1 to 3 months for Thar. This means that out of the three, Thar’s delivery will take the longest.

Keep in mind that these times are based on estimates, not firm delivery dates. Before booking, check with two-three showrooms and ask in writing about possible delivery times. This will help you choose the right SUV as per your needs and planning.
