The path to Reliance Jio’s IPO has been cleared. The biggest IPO in the history of Indian stock market is going to be launched soon. The value of this IPO will be around Rs 37,700 crore. Investors are very enthusiastic about this. According to a recent report by Bloomberg, the price band of this IPO of the Jio platform can be fixed between Rs 1,065 to Rs 1,119 per share.

But the most interesting thing connected with this mega issue is something different. Most people think that Jio is fully owned by Mukesh Ambani’s company Reliance Industries. Figures from the Draft Red Herring Prospectus or DRHP tell a different story. According to the documents, Reliance is not a 100 percent shareholder of the Jio platform. Many big global companies have invested in this.

Reliance does not have full ownership rights

Jio Platform is considered a part of Reliance Industries Limited. It is true that Reliance holds the largest stake in the company. But this share is not 100 percent. According to the latest data, Reliance Industries’ total share in Jio platforms is 66.43 percent.

The rest is held by foreign investors, tech companies, sovereign wealth funds. The company has total 105 shareholders. These shareholders include some of the world’s largest tech companies. From Meta Platforms (formerly known as Facebook) to search engine giant Google, Jio has invested heavily. Expressing faith in Jio’s digital vision, these companies have invested their money. Mukesh Ambani has made Reliance Jio not just a telecom company but a major digital service provider company. For this reason, global investors from all over the world are showing their interest in it.

These big companies have invested heavily

The list of top 10 shareholders of Jio is quite long. It includes names of companies with more than one percent share. After Reliance Industries, the second largest stake is held by Meta-related company Jadu Holdings LLC. Jadoo Holdings owns 9.98 percent stake in Jio. Immediately after this comes the name of the tech giant Google. Google International LLC has taken a strong 7.73 percent stake in Jio Platforms.

Apart from this, sovereign wealth funds of Middle East countries have also invested money in this digital revolution of India. Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) holds a 2.31 percent stake in Jio. Similarly, Omicron Asia Holdings (which is associated with KKR) also holds 2.31 percent stake. VEPF VII AIV I Ltd, an affiliate of Vista Equity Partners, also holds 2.31 per cent stake in Jio.

The list does not end here. SLP Redwood Holdings, a company associated with Silver Lake, owns 1.88 percent of the shares. MIC Redwood, a subsidiary of Mubadala Investment Company, holds a 1.85 percent stake. General Atlantic Singapore holds a 1.34 percent stake. At the same time, Platinum Jasmine A 2018 Trust, a company of Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, has also taken a 1.16 percent stake. All these statistics show the level of global support Jio has got.

This mega issue will come without OFS

The size of this IPO is a record in itself. The company is looking to raise $3.8 billion to $4 billion from the market. This figure of 37,700 crores is huge for the Indian stock market. There have been many big IPOs before but this issue of Jio looks set to break all records. 27 crore new equity shares will be issued under this mega issue. These shares will constitute about 2.9 percent of the post-issue equity. The most special thing about this IPO is that there will be no Offer for Sale (OFS).

OFS means existing investors of the company are exiting by selling their shares. But in case of Jio this is not happening at all. No existing investor is selling his stake. This shows that the old investors have full faith in the company’s future. Any money the company raises from the market will be used by the new shares. Rs. 1,065 to Rs. Considering the price band of 1,119, retail investors have to create their own special strategy to invest in it.

When will Jio be listed in the stock market?

The biggest question in the minds of investors is when they will be able to invest money in this IPO. According to the information released, the company has completed the road show for foreign investors. The company is likely to submit its final papers to market regulator Sebi in the week starting October 12, 2026. The issue may open to anchor investors on 19 October 2026. Subscription date for general investors can be kept from October 21 to October 23, 2026.
