Prime Minister of Bangladesh Tariq Rehman has appealed to give equal rights to people of all religions and work together for the development of the country. He said that people of all religions and social backgrounds have struggled together, from the independence of Bangladesh to the defense of democracy. In such a situation, everyone has to come together to take the country forward.

Prime Minister of Bangladesh Tariq Rahman said this while attending the Sharday greeting program organized at the Puja Mandap of Radha Gobind Dharmasabha Temple in Rangpur. He said that people of different religions have been living peacefully in Bangladesh for thousands of years. The government wants this tradition to continue for the next thousand years.

From independence to the fight for democracy, everyone supported us.

Tariq Rehman in his speech referred to the 1971 liberation struggle and the movements to defend democracy. He said that during the freedom struggle people did not see any religion. People from different religious beliefs, ideas and socio-professional backgrounds fought together to liberate the country.

He also mentioned the student-led uprising in 2024. According to the Prime Minister, in this movement too, people of different religions, political views and social backgrounds took to the streets for their rights. He appealed that no attempt should be made to dispute or defame the liberation struggle and 2024 student movement.

Tariq Rehman said that if anyone wants to raise an issue or express his opinion, he should raise it in Parliament. He also appealed to the people who believe in democracy to maintain unity.

Belief in development of all sectors

The Prime Minister said that his government wants to work even for those who did not vote for him in the elections. The objective of the government is to ensure equitable distribution of resources and balanced development in all sectors.

He said that a fund of Rs 1,800 crore was approved for the development of Rangpur city in the ECNEC meeting about two weeks ago. Apart from this, bridges, culverts, schools, colleges and other necessary facilities will be developed in various suburbs, unions and villages of the district with the help of the Ministry of Local Government. He said that people have to forget their differences and work together to complete these plans and take the country forward.

Honored in the temple, gave a check of 10 lakhs

Tariq Rehman was the first to reach the temple premises from Syedpur Airport. He was received there with a religious ceremony. Children greeted the Prime Minister with a dance performance. Meanwhile, he also spoke to the devotees who came to the temple. Temple president Bhavatosh Sarkar and General Minister Khokon Sarkar honored the Prime Minister by giving a memento. In response, Tariq Rehman gave a check of 10 lakhs to the temple. The Prime Minister said that Bangladesh is a country of people of all religions and the government wants to work for all citizens. He appealed to the people to put aside their mutual differences and unite to contribute to the development of the country.
