Cameron Boozer Becomes Second-Youngest Player With an NBA Triple-Double
At 19 years and 103 days old, Boozer became the second-youngest player in NBA history to record a triple-double. Only Josh Giddey achieved the milestone at a younger age, doing so at 19 years and 84 days in January 2022.
Boozer also became the youngest player to record a triple-double in a winning game. He reached the milestone in just his fifth NBA appearance, adding another remarkable achievement to his rookie season.
His performance included efficient shooting, strong rebounding and excellent playmaking. He converted six of 10 field-goal attempts, including four of five from three-point range, while delivering a team-high 12 assists. NBA.com+1
Historic Achievement Puts Boozer Alongside NBA’s Youngest Triple-Double Performers
The achievement places Boozer in a small group of teenage players who have recorded triple-doubles in NBA history. He became only the fifth teenager to reach the milestone, joining Josh Giddey, Luka Doncic, Victor Wembanyama and other young talents.
He also became the youngest frontcourt player to record a triple-double, surpassing Wembanyama’s previous mark. The San Antonio Spurs star was 20 years and six days old when he achieved the feat in January 2024. NBA.com+1
Ja Morant’s Return to Memphis Ends With Hamstring Injury
The game also attracted attention because former Grizzlies star Ja Morant faced Memphis for the first time since being traded in June 2026. The Portland guard finished with 14 points and three assists in 23 minutes.
However, Morant left during the fourth quarter with a hamstring injury and did not return. His departure added an unexpected storyline to a game that had already featured Boozer’s historic performance.
Morant spent seven seasons with Memphis before the trade. His first meeting against his former team was closely watched by NBA fans, particularly given his previous importance to the franchise. Reuters+1
