Apple has launched a new 14-inch MacBook Pro. It features the company’s new M6 chip, which is claimed to deliver better speed, graphics and AI-related functions. According to the company, the laptop’s battery can last up to 24 hours on a single charge. Its starting price in India is Rs 2,39,900. At the same time, OLED display and touchscreen are also being discussed about the MacBook Pro. But the currently launched M6 model does not have a touchscreen.
Price and delivery date
The new MacBook Pro will come in Space Black and Silver colors. Its pre-booking will start from October 28 and sales will start from November 6. Its starting price in India is Rs 2,39,900. Under education pricing, it can be bought for Rs 2,27,900. It has 16GB of unified memory, which is expandable up to 32GB.
The M6 chip will provide faster performance
The laptop has an M6 chip with a 12-core CPU and 12-core GPU. According to Apple, the CPU and GPU have two more cores than the M5 chip. This can provide better performance in tasks like multitasking, coding, photo editing and gaming. The company claims that the M6 chip is 30% faster than the M5 in terms of graphics. It also has a third generation ray-tracing engine. According to Apple’s tests, rendering in Blender can be 11.7 times faster and building projects in Xcode 2.5 times faster compared to a 13-inch MacBook Pro with M1.
Also improved AI and battery
The M6 chip features neural accelerators and dual 16-core neural engines. According to the company, AI-related tasks on the device can be 25% faster compared to the M5. This will help to create photos, improve their quality and run AI models. The laptop features a 14-inch Liquid Retina XDR display, with HDR peak brightness of up to 1,600 nits. A nano-texture display option is also available. The company claims that the battery lasts up to 24 hours. With fast charging, it can be charged up to 50% in 30 minutes.
Support for Wi-Fi 7 and Siri AI
For connectivity, it includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, three Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI, MagSafe 3 and SDXC card. It also has a 12MP center stage camera and a six-speaker system. Laptop macOS 27 has been introduced and features Apple Intelligence and Siri AI. Siri can help you work with information in messages, emails, and photos across apps.
