US President Donald Trump is not sticking to his word and he has once again announced this from an open forum. Trump has had animosity with Russia because of the Russia-Ukraine war. Trump, who has taken a stand to stop the war, has himself made a deal with Russia, from which he continues to impose tariffs on countries around the world, including India, to buy oil from. Dealing with Russian President Vladimir Putin looks set to land him in trouble in his home country of America ahead of the midterm elections. The American senator has described it as a shame.

Donald Trump gave this information by posting on his social media platform Truth Social on Friday. America will buy 3 million tons of diesel from Russia in the coming days. Russia will supply 3 lakh tonnes of diesel to the US immediately, 5 lakh tonnes in November-December and shortly thereafter i.e. by April 2027, the US will buy 3 million tonnes of diesel from Russia. Along with this, America has also lifted restrictions on the sale of oil to Russia.

Trump is surrounded in his own country

Trump has been criticized in the US for the deal amid threats of tariffs from Putin. Democratic Party leader and US Senate MP Richard Blumenthal has strongly criticized Trump’s move. He said the president’s decision to lift sanctions on Russian diesel is shameful and makes us Putin’s allies in the war against Ukraine.

Richard Blumenthal further stated that this covert attempt to minimize the devastation caused by Trump’s illegal war in Iran will only benefit the economies of China and Russia and cause more innocent deaths in Ukraine.

Dealing with ‘Killer Dictator’ Malignancy

US Senator Richard Blumenthal said this deal with a murderous dictator is a stain on our country’s image. It is an insult to Lindsey Graham’s memory and the exact opposite of what Congress intended in our bipartisan ban bill. The President should cancel this agreement immediately. Let American companies looking to take Putin’s ‘blood money’ know that Congress is watching you.

Statement by Ukrainian President Zelensky

Earlier, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky also came forward on the deal between President Trump and Putin. He has also criticized this decision of Trump. Zelensky said allowing Moscow to sell petroleum products would give Russia additional funds to continue its war against Ukraine.
