Royal Enfield has launched a special limited edition Classic 650 to mark its 125th anniversary. The Hypershift Classic 650 has been priced at Rs 4,25,589 ex-showroom. The company has specially designed it keeping in mind its long history and heritage. Not only is the bike a new paint scheme, but it has undergone several design changes that make it stand out from the regular Classic 650.
This special edition is limited to only 125 units worldwide for each major sector. That means not everyone will get a chance to buy it. Royal Enfield was launched in the year 1901 and this bike has been brought to commemorate 125 years of that journey. The registration for this has started on 16 October 2026 at 2 PM IST, which will continue till 28 October. The company is planning to start its deliveries from November 2026.
What is special about the color and design?
The appearance of the Hypershift Classic 650 retains the identity of the old Classic model. It has a teardrop shaped fuel tank and a nacelle headlamp. However, its biggest attraction is the Hypershift paint finish. Depending on the light and viewing angle, its color appears to vary from red, green and gold. This gives the bike a distinct and premium look.
Apart from this, the bike has been given a brass base, inspired by the company’s early motorcycles. A golden 125 year crest on the tank, special badging on the side panels and hand-made pinstripes make its look even more distinctive. Certain parts like the engine case, exhaust and wheels have been given a black finish, which enhances the color combination. It also has a quilted premium seat, which takes care of the bike’s looks as well as comfort.
What will you get in terms of features and safety?
Talking about the features, this limited edition gets LED headlamps, tripper navigation with TFT display and USB Type-C charging port. If necessary, the rear seat can be removed. It also has a removable pillion seat and sub-frame.
Showa suspension is provided in the bike to make the ride comfortable. There is a 43 mm telescopic fork at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. For braking, 320 mm front and 300 mm rear disc brakes are provided. Additionally, dual-channel ABS is also standard, which helps reduce the risk of wheel lock during braking.
There is no change in engine and performance
Royal Enfield has not made any changes in the engine or mechanical setup of this special edition. As before, it has a 647.95 cc air/oil-cooled parallel-twin engine. It delivers around 46.39-47 bhp of power and 52.3 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and slipper/assistance clutch. The curb weight of the bike is around 243 kg, while the seat height is kept at 800 mm. It has a fuel tank of 14.7-14.8 liters. Its top speed is said to be around 157 km/h.
