The demand for compact SUVs is steadily increasing in the Indian car market. People want a car that looks good, gives good mileage and doesn’t burden the budget too much. Maruti Suzuki Fronx fulfills these requirements. This is the reason why the sales of this compact SUV of the company has registered a huge increase.

While 80,516 units of Brezza and 3,221 units of Jimny were sold. From these figures, it is clear that Fronx accounts for a large share of the company’s compact SUV sales.
43% increase in Fronx sales
If we look at the sales figures of Maruti Suzuki Franks, its popularity has grown quite a bit. It sold 1,10,135 units in the first six months of FY 2026-27. In the corresponding period of last financial year, the company sold 76,805 units. That means sales have increased by around 43% year-on-year.
Sales of the Fronx have now approached the figures of the company’s popular 7-seater MPV Ertiga. 1,12,557 units of Ertiga were sold during the same period. The difference in sales between the two is not much. However, the Fronx is a compact SUV, while the Ertiga offers more seating capacity.
Mileage and CNG option are also special
Even today, mileage is important to many consumers when buying a car. Especially for people who have to drive daily to go to office or for other work. In such a situation, the option of CNG along with petrol makes Fronx useful for some customers.
The SUV has 1.2 liter petrol and 1.0 liter turbo-petrol engine options. People who want to reduce fuel costs can opt for its CNG variant. According to the company, Fronx CNG gives a mileage of up to 28.51 km per kg. However, actual mileage may vary depending on road, traffic and driving style.
The price starts from Rs 6.90 lakh
The price of Fronx also makes it an option for consumers. Its ex-showroom price starts at ₹6.90 lakh and goes up to ₹12.03 lakh. That means customers can choose different variants according to their budget and requirements. It has options ranging from a regular petrol engine to a turbo-petrol engine. In such a situation, customers can choose between mileage, performance and price according to their preference.
Attention was also given to security features
Car buyers these days don’t just look at looks and mileage, but also value safety. The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is built on the company’s Heartect platform. It has six airbags.
