What’s next for Dalal Street?
Today’s rally after last week’s sharp decline has given Dalal Street investors some relief, but analysts have advised caution. VK Vijayakumar, chief investment strategist at Geojit Investments, says Brent crude has eased slightly to below $115, but is still very high. Because of this, scope for any major upside from Nifty’s low of 22,600 (seen last Friday) will be limited. However, he also said that investors should not worry about the level of the index in the near future. Their focus should be on the good stocks (value buys) that have become cheaper after this decline, and they should also be alert to the macroeconomic implications of higher crude oil prices.
