Amid rising pollution and smog in Delhi, an important rule is going to be implemented for motorists. Delhi Government has announced to implement No PUC, No Fuel Policy from November 1. Under this, if your vehicle’s Pollution Control Certificate (PUC) is not valid, you may be denied petrol or diesel at the petrol pump. You may also face a challan for driving without a valid PUC.
Apart from this, it has also been said that a ban on entry of non-BS6 vehicles will be enforced in Delhi. In such a situation, if you travel daily by car or bike, it would be better to check the necessary documents of your vehicle before leaving home. The good thing is that you don’t need to go to any office to check the validity of PUC. You can get this information from mobile itself through government portal or mParivahan app.

So, set a reminder in your phone to remember the certificate date. By taking the test a few days before the deadline, you can avoid last-minute problems.
What if you can’t find your records online?
If you have taken the PUC test recently, but the record is not visible on the government website, try again after some time. Fill the last 5 digits of registration number and chassis number carefully. Even if there is an error in English letter O and number 0, the record cannot be found. If necessary, contact the test center and till then keep the received paper certificate safely.
To check PUC, avoid entering your personal information on unknown third-party applications. Use only government website or official app. It can also be useful to keep a copy or screenshot of the digital certificate on the phone, but follow the conditions of showing a valid document when required.
