Players preparing for World of Warcraft: Forever can plan their First Aid progression by gathering the right materials, learning the required skill ranks and purchasing key bandage manuals before crafting. The profession offers multiple ways to advance, including bandages and healing potions.

The game is scheduled to launch on November 4, 2026. The following leveling route is based on the pre-release information available for the desktop client, so material requirements and progression details may change before launch.

WoW Forever First Aid: Materials Required From 1 to 225

Players following the bandage route should prepare four types of cloth before starting. The estimated quantities provide a useful shopping list, although additional materials may be necessary because some recipes do not award a skill point with every craft.

  • Linen Cloth: Approximately 175
  • Wool Cloth: Approximately 150
  • Silk Cloth: Approximately 135
  • Mageweave Cloth: Approximately 20

First Aid is a secondary profession, meaning players can learn it without giving up either of their two primary profession slots. Any character class can train in the profession.

First Aid Trainers, Skill Ranks and Required Manuals

Players begin with Apprentice First Aid, which supports progression up to skill 75. Journeyman First Aid becomes available at skill 50 and increases the maximum skill level to 150. Learning the next rank before reaching the cap prevents crafting materials from being wasted.

At skill 125, players can use Expert First Aid – Under Wraps to raise the maximum skill to 225. Alliance characters can purchase the book from Deneb Walker at Stromgarde Keep in the Arathi Highlands. Horde characters can obtain it from Balai Lok’Wein in Brackenwall Village in Dustwallow Marsh.

Two additional manuals are essential for the later stages: Manual: Heavy Silk Bandage and Manual: Mageweave Bandage. Players need them at skills 180 and 210, respectively. These books are also tradable, making the Auction House or other players alternative sources.

How to Level First Aid From 1 to 150 With Bandages

The initial stages use Linen and Wool Cloth. Players should move to the next recipe as soon as they reach the required skill range instead of automatically crafting the entire estimated batch.

  • Skill 1–40: Craft approximately 45 Linen Bandages using 45 Linen Cloth.
  • Skill 40–80: Craft approximately 65 Heavy Linen Bandages using 130 Linen Cloth.
  • At skill 50: Learn Journeyman First Aid from a trainer.
  • Skill 80–115: Craft approximately 50 Wool Bandages using 50 Wool Cloth.
  • Skill 115–150: Craft approximately 50 Heavy Wool Bandages using 100 Wool Cloth.

These quantities are estimates rather than guaranteed totals. Yellow recipes may stop awarding skill points consistently, so keeping extra cloth available can help players finish the progression without another farming trip.

Leveling First Aid From 150 to 225

Before crafting beyond skill 150, players must use Expert First Aid – Under Wraps. Without the higher rank, the skill cap prevents further progression even if the character continues making bandages.

The remaining route uses Silk and Mageweave Cloth:

  • Skill 150–180: Craft approximately 45 Silk Bandages using 45 Silk Cloth.
  • At skill 180: Learn the recipe from Manual: Heavy Silk Bandage.
  • Skill 180–210: Craft approximately 45 Heavy Silk Bandages using 90 Silk Cloth.
  • At skill 210: Learn the recipe from Manual: Mageweave Bandage.
  • Skill 210–225: Craft approximately 20 Mageweave Bandages using 20 Mageweave Cloth.

Regular First Aid trainers do not teach the two required bandage recipes. If either recipe is missing, players should check the appropriate faction vendor or search the Auction House for the exact manual.

Alternative WoW Forever First Aid Route: Healing Potions

The updated profession system moves basic healing potion crafting from Alchemy to First Aid. Players can choose potions instead of bandages for the initial 1–150 progression, depending on the materials available and prices on their server.

The estimated potion route requires the following ingredients:

  • Skill 1–75: Approximately 85 Minor Healing Potions, using 85 Peacebloom, 85 Empty Vials and 85 Mild Spices.
  • At skill 50: Learn Journeyman First Aid.
  • Skill 75–110: Approximately 50 Lesser Healing Potions, using 50 Briarthorn, 50 Empty Vials and 100 Mild Spices.
  • Skill 110–150: Approximately 45 Healing Potions, using 45 Bruiseweed, 45 Leaded Vials and 45 Hot Spices.

Players should choose either the bandage or potion route for the initial stages rather than combining both shopping lists. At skill 150, the progression continues with Silk Bandages and follows the same route to 225.

Additional First Aid Recipes Worth Learning

Several recipes offer utility beyond standard healing bandages. The First Aid Kit, available at skill 20, creates a Camping object that provides a level-scaled Stamina bonus to resting players. Its bonus does not stack with Power Word: Fortitude, and Camping objects share a one-hour cooldown.

Simple Poultice becomes available at skill 90 and removes applicable diseases outside combat. Woolen Tourniquet, available at skill 120, removes applicable bleed effects outside combat. At skill 140, players can obtain Toxin Study from Commander Springvale in Shadowfang Keep.

Superior Poultice, Superior Healing Potion and Potent Anti-Venom are additional recipes worth considering around skills 210–215, but they are not required to reach 225. Anti-Venoms can be used during combat, while Poultices and Tourniquets cannot. All three remedy types share a one-minute item cooldown.

Bandages require players to remain in a safe position while healing. Movement or incoming damage can interrupt the process, and the Recently Bandaged debuff remains even if the channel is interrupted.

How to Fix First Aid Leveling Problems

If First Aid progression stops, the issue may be a missing rank, an unavailable recipe or the normal skill-up chance of the current craft.

  • Stuck at skill 75: Visit a trainer and learn Journeyman First Aid.
  • Stuck at skill 150: Use Expert First Aid – Under Wraps to increase the skill cap.
  • Missing a recipe at 180 or 210: Obtain the relevant bandage manual from the faction vendor or Auction House.
  • Crafting without gaining a point: Continue crafting or switch to a more difficult available recipe, since yellow and green recipes do not guarantee skill increases.

How to Unlock Artisan First Aid After Skill 225

Players who reach skill 225 and character level 35 can pursue Artisan First Aid. Alliance characters should visit Doctor Gustaf VanHowzen in Theramore, while Horde characters should travel to Doctor Gregory Victor in Hammerfall.

The advancement quest requires players to save 15 patients before six die. During the Triage challenge, use the supplied Triage Bandages and prioritize patients in this order: Critically Injured, Badly Injured, then Injured. Enabling friendly nameplates can make it easier to identify and treat patients quickly.

Players do not need to bring their own bandages for the challenge. If an attempt fails, they can accept the quest again and retry the test.
