The statement issued also termed the entry of outsiders in the incident as an attempt to destabilize the campus. This statement has been issued by the Jamia administration.

Let’s know the whole matter in detail. Let’s find out what Jamia teachers said. Let us know when the teachers issued this statement. Let us understand this whole matter in detail.

Teachers meeting in Jamia

Amid the ongoing uproar at Jamia, a meeting of faculty deans, heads of departments, directors of centers and key officials of the university (including Controller of Examinations, Chief Proctor, Hostel Provost and other officials) was organized on Monday evening, expressing concern over political interference in the commotion. The meeting was called to take stock of the campus situation, review the duration of online classes and discuss the demands of the protesting students.

Refutation of Justice Markandey Katju’s post

In the meeting, the teachers also rejected a Facebook post by former Supreme Court judge Justice Markandey Katju, in which he cited Article 19(1)(c) of the Constitution in support of the right to form student unions. On this, the teachers questioned their claim that the university administration was against the democratic rights of the students. The teachers say this is against the basic spirit of the order issued by the Jamia administration on October 26, 2026.

The teachers also emphasized that a ‘Draft Constitution Committee’ was formed on October 21. Sufficient time should be given to this committee to examine the court orders, the recommendations of the Lyngdoh Committee report and the applicable rules and regulations of the University.

The MPs forcibly entered the campus

The teachers expressed deep concern over the attempts of political parties to politicize the internal affairs of the university. He said the university administration had to register an FIR on October 25 after Congress MPs Imran Pratapgarhi and Imran Masood entered the campus illegally. According to the teachers, Imran Pratapgarhi entered the campus by breaking the lock of Gate No. 4A on October 21, while Imran Masood entered the campus by climbing the boundary wall with the help of a ladder near Ghafoor Nagar on October 23. He also mentioned that Samajwadi Party MP Mohibullah Nadvi was detained while coming to the campus and said that other political leaders also came to the campus without any prior information to the administration.

The building was occupied by outsiders

The teachers expressed deep sorrow that ‘university outsiders’ have occupied and locked the building of the Department of Political Science and Economics since October 24 amid ongoing protests. He said that due to this situation the university had to shift the studies to online mode from that date till Diwali holidays, and further decision would be taken only after reviewing the situation.
