Customers preparing to buy a new car in the festive season will now have to budget a little more for the Skoda Kushka. The company has increased the prices of its compact SUV by up to Rs 20,000. After the new prices, the ex-showroom price of the Kushka has gone from Rs 10.69 lakh to Rs 19.19 lakh. However, this increase is not the same across variants. Prices for some models have remained the same, while many automatic and 1.5-litre engine variants have gone up in price.
The Kushka received a 5-star rating in both the adult and child safety categories in the Global NCAP crash test. In such a situation, this SUV is an option for customers who value safety. This is the first price change since the facelift update earlier this year. Currently the company has only increased the prices. No new features or mechanical updates have been announced with this.
New Prices of Manual Variant of Skoda Kushka
The manual variant of the Kushka with the 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine has seen a price hike of Rs 10,000 for the Signature. At the same time, the Sportline and Prestige manual models have gone up by Rs 15,000. After this change, the ex-showroom price of the Sportline has gone up to Rs 14.89 lakh and the price of the Prestige has gone up to Rs 16.94 lakh.
However, the price of the entry-level Classic Plus 1.0 TSI manual remains unchanged. It is still Rs. 10.69 lakh available. This means that customers who opted for the initial variant of the Kushka are not affected by the price hike this time.
How much will buying the automatic variant add to the cost?
The prices of the automatic models with the 1.0-litre TSI engine have also been revised. Signature AT now Rs. 10,000, while the Classic Plus, Sportline and Prestige AT variants are priced at Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 20,000 has been increased.
According to the new prices, the Sportline AT will now be available at Rs 15.89 lakh. The price of the Prestige 1.0 AT has gone up to Rs 17.79 lakh, while for the Monte Carlo 1.0 AT you will now have to pay Rs 18.09 lakh. Both the automatic variants of the Prestige and Monte Carlo have been increased by Rs 20,000.
The 1.5-litre engine variant is also expensive
The Prestige and Monte Carlo variants of the Kushka with the 1.5-litre TSI engine and DSG gearbox have also been hiked by Rs 20,000. Now the Prestige 1.5 DSG is priced at Rs 18.99 lakh ex-showroom, while the Monte Carlo 1.5 DSG has gone up to Rs 19.19 lakh. This is currently the most expensive variant of the Kushak range.
Meanwhile, Skoda has also added a Sportline variant with a 1.5-litre TSI engine and DSG gearbox. Its price has been kept at 16.99 lakh rupees. It is the cheapest option for Kushak with this combination of engine and gearbox. This allows customers who don’t want to opt for a more powerful engine for expensive variants like the Prestige or Monte Carlo.
Effect of October price hike
The Skoda Kushak has 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine options. Depending on the variant, they are offered with manual and automatic transmissions. The company had announced a price hike for its cars in October, with an increase of up to 1.2 percent or up to Rs 20,000 depending on the model and variant.
Note that all prices shown here are ex-showroom. On-road price may vary after adding registration, insurance and other charges. So, before buying Kushka, please confirm the new price of the respective variant from your nearest Skoda dealer.
