The Toyota Innova Hicross was first launched in India in late 2022. Now after almost four years, the company is gearing up to introduce its facelift model. According to reports, the new Innova Hicross facelift may be launched on 26 November 2026. This time around the cabin of the MPV can see some changes from the outside. Apart from this, the company can also offer an E85 flex-fuel hybrid engine option.
The new Innova Hicross is expected to be priced ex-showroom at Rs. 20 lakh to Rs. 33 lakh can be between. However, Toyota is yet to give official information about the launch date, price and new features.
What will the new Innova Hicross look like from the outside?
Test models of the new Innova Highcross will be seen on roads from July 2026 with heavy covers. Based on that, it is believed that most of the changes will be in the front part of the car. It may get a larger and wider grille inspired by the Toyota Hilux. Along with this, it is expected to get newly designed full LED headlights and dynamic turn indicators.
Apart from this, the company can also change the design of the alloy wheels. Depending on the variant, it can get alloy wheels up to 18 inches. However, the existing body design of the car is likely to remain intact. That means it will not be a completely new vehicle, but an updated version of the existing model.
A large touchscreen display will be available in the cabin
The interior of the new Innova Hicross can also see some significant changes. Currently, it has a 10.1-inch floating touchscreen system, which supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The facelift model can replace it with a larger screen of 12.3 inches. Its size may be similar to the display found in the new Hilux.
It is believed that the stronger hybrid variant may also get a 12.3-inch digital driver display. In this, information related to the hybrid system can be viewed. At the same time, the petrol variant is expected to get a 7-inch multi-information screen with analog meters. Apart from this, ADAS features and connected car technology can also be improved.
Will petrol and hybrid engines remain intact?
The new Innova Hicross is expected to continue with the existing engine options. Its 2.0 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 171 bhp of power and 204 Nm of torque. It is mated to a CVT gearbox. Whereas, the 2.0-litre hybrid version gets the petrol engine along with an electric motor and an E-CVT transmission. The total power of both is 181 bhp. The ARAI certified mileage of this hybrid model is 23.24 kmpl.
Will you get an E85 flex-fuel engine?
One of the most interesting possibilities of this facelift includes an E85 flex-fuel version. Toyota showed a prototype of this a few years ago, designed to run on E85 fuel. Now it is hoped that the company can introduce this technology in the new model of Innova Highcross. However, whether it will be a different variant or come with a facelift, the situation is still unclear.
E85 fuel was launched in India in June 2026. Its price is about Rs. 20 per liter is said to be less. Meanwhile, Maruti Suzuki introduced WagonR Flex Fuel as the country’s first E85 passenger car.
