Mahindra’s upcoming electric SUV, the BE 7, has been spotted testing at a public charging station in Karnataka, offering a closer look at its exterior design and premium features. The latest spy images reveal several details that were previously difficult to identify under heavy camouflage.

The new electric SUV is expected to expand Mahindra’s Electric Origin lineup. While the company already sells the BE 6, the BE 7 will introduce a larger and more premium option in its electric vehicle portfolio.

Although Mahindra has not announced an official launch date, the electric SUV could arrive in 2027.

Mahindra BE 7 Spy Images Reveal New Design Details

The latest images show the BE 7 connected to a public charging station, reportedly in Karnataka, with Bengaluru considered a possible location.

The test vehicle features a distinctive white-and-violet camouflage pattern. Mahindra has also used a black-and-white camouflage finish on other test vehicles, suggesting that multiple prototypes are undergoing road testing.

One notable detail is the charging port, positioned on the rear-left quarter panel. This placement is similar to what Mahindra uses on its other Electric Origin SUVs.

Compared with the BE 6, the upcoming BE 7 appears considerably larger. Its overall design also includes several premium styling elements that could help distinguish it in the electric SUV segment.

Frameless Doors and Fully Motorised Handles

One of the most interesting features visible in the latest spy shots is the frameless door design. This gives the BE 7 a more premium appearance and is an unusual feature in India’s mainstream vehicle market.

The windows are also expected to feature an automatic adjustment mechanism. They could lower slightly when the doors open and move back into position after the doors close.

Another highlight is the redesigned flush door handles. Unlike the electrically operated handles found on some existing Mahindra models, the BE 7 appears to feature a fully motorised mechanism that allows the entire handle to pop out automatically.

The arrangement looks similar to the door handle systems used in certain Tesla and BYD electric vehicles.

Exterior Features Include C-Shaped LED Lighting

The latest images provide a clearer view of the BE 7’s exterior styling. The SUV features large C-shaped LED daytime running lights and matching design elements at the rear.

Other visible details include an angular body design, a clamshell bonnet, a clamshell tailgate and a sporty rear spoiler. The rear windscreen washer and wiper appear neatly integrated into the spoiler.

The SUV also gets chunky bumpers and an upright windscreen, giving it a distinctive road presence.

Interestingly, two cameras can be seen mounted near the rear spoiler. These could indicate support for a digital inside rear-view mirror, although Mahindra has not officially confirmed this feature.

Three Screens and Premium Cabin Technology Expected

Previous spy images have already indicated that the Mahindra BE 7 could feature a three-screen dashboard layout.

Its interior design is expected to remain relatively close to the original concept, although the final production model may feature some changes. The cabin could also share certain design elements with the BE 6, including its centre console and sporty seats.

Other expected equipment includes ventilated seats, powered front seats, ambient lighting and an advanced parking assistance system.

The SUV could also receive a 16-speaker Harman audio system with a claimed 1,400W output, Mahindra’s Adrenox connected technology and Level 2+ Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

These features suggest that Mahindra is targeting buyers looking for a technology-focused electric SUV with a premium cabin experience.

Mahindra BE 7 Battery, Range and Performance Expectations

The upcoming BE 7 could use battery packs similar to those offered across Mahindra’s existing Electric Origin SUV range.

Expected battery options include 59 kWh, 70 kWh and 79 kWh units. The claimed driving range could approach 700 km, while a real-world range of around 500 km may be possible, depending on the battery configuration and driving conditions.

The single-motor rear-wheel-drive version could deliver up to 282 bhp. Mahindra may also consider introducing a dual-motor configuration, potentially offering an all-wheel-drive option.

However, the battery specifications, performance figures and driving range have not yet been officially confirmed by the company.

The latest spy sightings indicate that development and testing of the BE 7 are progressing. More details about its specifications, variants, pricing and launch schedule are expected closer to its official debut.
